“Blind Spot Assist” is a made up term but a very real feature I never noticed. Apparently only arrived with the updated driving visualizations. I always knew about the warning chimes, the red line, and the outright collision avoidance, but never took notice (or read) of this one. When you’re on a multi-lane road, if you turn on your blinker, the car avatar zooms out and forward to give you a much deeper view into your blind spots. No need to touch the screen or anything. Super handy!

Interesting, I never noticed that either.. I might actually have to use my blinker today and see what happens.
Someone needs to tweet Elon and tell him to enable the side cameras when blinker is on.
my 40.50.7 does this. no fsd.
though i find it pointless. when im trying to swap lanes, the last place i look is a computer render the center of the console.

I found these $3.95 autozone mirrors work great. Added them on the way home from picking up our new Tesla in fact. Used same for years on the tiny mirrors on my wife’s M3. Saves a lot of neck strain for us older folks

I’ve noticed the same just the one time. Pretty terrifying when the car is happy to change lane into someone already there. And then other times it’s swerved back into its own lane mid-way through changing lane, even when there’s nobody there! Like...wtf Tesla.

Much as I think it's a nice feature, it's inferior (in my view) to the simple lights in the mirror. Waiting to warn you of a car you didn't see until after you've signaled (and alarmed/pissed off the other driver) is too late I think.
I tweeted Elon to make viewing the side camera while blinker is on an option. If any one else wants that tweet him as well! This should be a simple change software wise.
Completely agree. It’s almost a no brainer given the technology is already there. Even a toggle feature would solve it for those who may disagree with its usefulness.

there are people who still like to drive themselves you know. In fact i would love to see some actual numbers comparing the amount of people who bought FSD to those who did not.
