Buying a ‘23 MY Standard Range - Please educate me

I agree. The upkeep of MYP will be a lot higher, these 21" tires are expensive. and price delta is $7,000 between AWD and P... I'm leaning more towards AWD. is $7,000 worth the upgrade? I dont know
It depends on your need, the performance has a different suspension which would be more stiff it says 0-60 3.5 but it is actually 3.8 or something I would say getting a LR instead of a P is a better option because it gives you 330 range and P has 303 also it totally depends on what is the main thing you need in your car if speed is your main moto then go for the P
AWD is also 0-60 5 seconds which is also faster than a lot of ICE cars and if i am not wrong it might be faster than 5 seconds in real.
so its up to you btw you can also get a spoiler for 69 or 79 bucks on tesmanian.com lol
anyways best of luck with the decision.

Seems inventory is now leaning away from the MYAWD into the exotics (7 seaters, white interior, wheels galore ). My 2/8 order is still at TBD, but very glad for the poster above who had a new VIN assigned all of a sudden! My texts have gone unanswered for 2 days . . . we will see when this mystery ends.

I just heard back from Tesla - they said, as others have, that the VIN is a pre-production vehicle in the planning stages. It is not yet manufactured. They hope to have an update "soon". Based on what is coming out right now in inventory it seems that the more expensive models are being given priority.

That sucks! I bet I would have been in the same boat if I did not switch to another car I saw in existing inventory. When I switched, the new car did not say in production like my first order did. However, I did think it was already available for pickup. But they confirmed that it is supposedly already built and in transit from TX to CA. My OD was 2/10 for a basic white/black interior MYAWD. Pls keep looking everyday for existing cars, you might get one more quickly!

Try grabbing one from inventory that is your best bet that is pretty much what all we did! As soon as you see a car in inventory just take the link and mail it and text it to the mail and number you got order confirmation from and they should be do it or if they don't reply go to the closest showroom and meet an executive and let him know that you want to change your car from inventory and you will send them. I assume you got thw aws when the starting price was 50.990 so even if you see a car with 51.990 they should price match it for you since you have an older order.

My local SC never answers their phone and texting 510 number worked for me. As soon as I saw inventory MYAWD come up, I'd text 510 number for change. The MYAWD model miraculously stayed available for almost 24 hours, gave local SA enough time to do their work and they were able to change out the VIN for me. They gave me delivery date immediately after changing to new VIN.

Update: For me I deiced to go with MYP instead of MYAWD. I'm planning on keeping this car long term and with current tax credit available this would be the best opportunity to try out the MYP. I won't like the increased insurance premium and more expensive tire maintenance, but I just could not forget the test driving experience of MYP and had to go back to MYP! I really looked forward to driving MYAWD with structural battery, but hope I will get to buy another Tesla when the structural battery models become widely available in the future.

Well - as I was chatting with the Tesla chat specialist the car vanished. It's actually a car that I have seen on and off and on and off the inventory. I am not sure what the deal is. Anyway, he would have been able to transfer the car otherwise. He cannot lower the price to match my original price. That can only be done by the people over text, he said. There is so little inventory coming to my area, everything is spoken for (and indeed there are Tesla's everywhere). I will keep my eyes out!
