So 2 years ago, in the summer, when Government, and even Tesla, asked to not charge car in the summer heat is fake news now? Someone must be working for CNN and MSNBC.

California hasn't had any demand related power outages. "California power outages" is the fake news.
I have replaced all of my outdoor equipment with electric over the past few years... Lawn mower, trimmers, chain saws, snowblowers, leaf blowers, wood chipper.
They all work flawlessly and are much more reliable than the old gas versions.
(BTW, all are charged off peak so no strain on the grid.)

It was like 120 degrees. That is also the summer when Tesla kicked off Virtual Power Plant in California. VPP kicked off in July 2022 with 1200 homes and by the time the heatwave ended nearly 5000 homes were supplying energy to the grid and now up to 8000.

Oh and the ask was to cut AC to 78 and dont charge during the peak hours right when people get home. Wait until overnight.
