Does summon show 3-4 of your cameras on your phone while the car is moving?

If it doesn’t it would be nice if it did in cases where you can’t see every angle of your car from a distance, would give me more confidence to try using it

I haven’t even tried using it I’m scared
Don't be. Try some tests to get yourself comfortable. Go to an empty parking lot with well marked spots. Park the car and walk away from it. Then summon it to you. Watch its movements. Then repeat it with a longer distance away. You'll get the feel for it. Then try in a sparsely occupied lot, again starting with a small distance and gradually increasing it.

You'll get used to how it behaves. Keep a close eye on it, and make sure you have the app set to hold down the button. If you start to worry, just release the button.

It’s hard to see if your wheels are hitting a curb or something though

I updated comment, what is ASS do different that supposed to make it much better?
Not an expert (though I do play one on the Internets) but Smart Summon is its own software stack that was made in circa 2020. It doesn't recognize many objects. For example it can "see" Stop Signs, Pedestrians, some curbs but not too much more BUT can't see things like lane or direction markers, trees, poles, debris, etc. Also it also relies a lot on USS to detect objets.

ASS will be a subset of FSD Beta (now v12) so it will work basically the same as if you were in the car.

I hope it’s reliable enough that they increase the distance to like 500 feet and don’t rely on you to look at the car

I think adding the front, back, and 2 side camera view to the phone while summon is being used would help alot

put a decent size video of the front camera at the top of the phone a good size view of the rear on the bottom of the phone and 2 side cameras on either side of the phone screen and summon button directly in the center of the phone, you can already view the cameras in sentry mode on your phone it should work

If Tesla ever gets this to the point that you do not need to have eyes on the car at all times, then Tesla will need to assume liability for any damages the car causes. Otherwise, I would not allow my two-ton robot to play in parking lots without direct supervision.

Cameras would help a lot at this point, 4 views of the car wouldn’t need your eyes on the car

It would be like watching a drone

I can see the logic there - but I can also see a downside. Humans can only look at one thing at a time, and everything around it blurs out. If you had 4 camera feeds streaming, you could only focus on 1 at a time, moving your eyes around to each of them. You'd likely focus on the rear camera if it's backing up, but you might catch some movement out of the corner of your eye on the left repeater camera, so you stop looking at the back camera and focus on the left repeater. You can see where this is going. Now - take all that into consideration, and you're not paying ANY attention to what's happening with the actual car, you're just focusing on the feeds on your phone. You don't see that [insert object here] or the car turning into your parking lane (at least until the camera feeds spot it), so you may miss important information.
