Yes, the analogy is terrible on a few levels.I disagree with your analogy, smartphones are a great piece of technology when compared to a pager. It’s not even close at how much more functionality you get with a smartphone.
A yoke provides no technological advancement over a round wheel, the ergonomics are awkward at best and turn signals being buttons is just a change for changes sake, there’s no improvement, it’s just different. Not everyone is going to like something different especially when that something provides no meaningful benefit.
I bought smartphones with physical buttons for quite a while. I switched when the manufacturers stopped making good phones that had slide out keyboards. I still am slower on a touchscreen typing, though learning to swipe has closed the gap some. Smart phones still have power and volume controls on the side. Imagine if they got rid of those?
I hope they always offer wired charging because I tend to use my phone in bed, plugged in.
Then again, I don't care what Apple does since I don't buy their overpriced products.
