The idea of nasty wheel cleaners is that you dont have to wipe the wheels and get into all the small gaps. Its spray on hose off. Nothing else required

Over time they’ll eat into the shine of the wheels. I’d just put the elbow grease in and they’ll look like new

As I said, grab wheel wax if you want an easy clean. I used it on previous euro cars I’ve owned which suffer from terrible brake dust. Wipes Straight off!

Agree re interior. Moist microfibre only for me (plus vacuum).

‘Generic‘ meaning I don’t look for a specific brand or product in this area, it’s ‘whatever’. Currently my car shampoo is Kitten which may or may not be met with howls of derision and mirth. I have a ‘generic’ yellow peanut sponge and ‘generic’ rectangular bucket so that I can use my ‘generic’ long-handled glass squeegee.

My seven year old Model S still has no brake dust build up in any of the corners and the barrels are clean and shiny. I use Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner which is not caustic, with a Wheel Brush at every second or third wash.
Doesn’t work for wheel rash however.
