That's a hell of a crash. Whoever it was won't be posting anytime soon.

Glad to hear they're ok...but speed, icy conditions and from what it looks like all seasons....not a good mix.

Looks like the car may have hit roof first right at the windshield. Dude is very lucky to alive. Hopefully some of that damage was fire crews cutting the pillars to get him out.

Safest sedan in it's class. Dumb people will always be dumb - driving dangerously in bad conditions with the roads wet and freezing overnight. Very lucky to be alive.

Saw it on BT this morning - I think my mind has been trained to automatically object to news reporters incessantly declaring that the car was a "Tesla" and wondering why we don't hear any other brand being called out for the same. At least it didn't catch fire.

I wonder if he slid sideways into the pole and then the car rotated left wheels up around the battery and smashed the windshield. Nasty crash. Glad he survived.

The removal of the windshield and forward glass roof section and cutting the A pillars was definitely from the fire crews working towards a safe extraction.

Those appear to be stock aeros without the cover.

Oh geez.... I drove through the area at about 6:30 yesterday, and the roads were slick in spots. Pretty glad I got winter tires last week!

Funny that those are actually 18" OEM rims. The safety related matter was almost certainly related to traction issues and in all likelihood, Tesla's OEM all season tires still being on the car. An after market winter tire would have saved this person from the brutal trauma.

Agreed. Windshield and roof was probably cut by fire fighters.
Curious to how bad it was. Hope the best for the drive and maybe he will let us know the experience after he recovers a bit.
