CSS -> type 2 -> Tesla

Has anyone tried to connect a CCS cable into a type 2 cable and then into the car?
I know it won't charge because the energy pins are missing. But what would happen?

Source: I sell EVSEs and someone asked this question on my company's website. It got me thinking and google lead me here.
What you probably don't realize is that the Type 2 inlet on the cable has a longer barrel and the pins are recessed into the connector. What this means is that the communication pins would not touch so to the charger - it would appear if nothing was there.

The longer inlet connector barrel also prevents Type 2 leads being cascaded as extension leads.

Your type 2 cable image is broken but compare the lengths of the connectors.

Won't work. With a CCS2 cable all the energy flows through the big pins at the bottom. The upper pins are just used so the charger and car can communicate.
