Take a look at where you travel and see what the charging network looks like. If you will be in an area that uses CHaDEmo then get one. I bought one back in the day AFTER we took a long road trip and could have used it. But lol, of course, have not been in a situation where I could have used it again.... go figure. There was a thread on here for people to loan/rent them out if you were taking a trip and would/might need one. I actually need to get active on it again since mine is just sitting in a box collecting dust LOL.
Renting them out is a great idea...I think at $400 they are too expensive, and CHaDEmo is dying a slow death...I think a CCS adapter would be more valuable, but even still - I've never been on a trip where a SC wasn't available to get us to where we needed to go. I agree options are always good in a pinch, but $400 for something I might never use is kind of a lot...

I just ordered a model Y performance today in white with white interiors. I know it’s only been a day but i am already feeling inpatient :). We are in California. Wait time said 1-10 weeks. Curious how long model Y folks have waited.
I ordered mine on May 8th and have had dates from mid June to early October on our EDD rollercoaster...

Today the dates changed a little again, now at July 12th - August 1st. The dates have been hovering in this range for the last week or week and a half maybe, with a couple "September" here and there for good measure like most everyone else.

If it were to come on July 12th, that would be 65 days from order to delivery, and August 1st would be 85 days. Which is 9 weeks and 12 weeks respectively. It is painful waiting this long and kind of surprising, but the day I placed my order the estimated delivery dates at the time were 5 to 12 weeks. So technically if I get it on August 1st it would fall at the very end of the dates posted on the website the day I ordered...

I, like everyone else, especially those of us that ordered in April and early May, are hoping for that end of quarter push to hook us up with a delivery this month. But I am not expecting to receive it before mid to late July at this point.

Anyone see this type of text before? I’ve received pay your final amount text several times but never one that stated to do so to keep my delivery date. Not that I’m gonna capitulate to their pseudo threat anyways.

“Tesla Update - Your account is now ready for the final payment. Please log into your Tesla account and make your final payment to keep your scheduled pick-up date.”
yep same here. I told my wife to ignore it, I've read on here it doesn't get you your car sooner, Tesla is just hoping you give them your hard earned money sooner than necessary.

Okay I’m a car guy , I realize along time ago you can’t expect none car guys to understand the feeling of satisfaction making your car faster . People asked why you need to spend more money on wheels and aftermarket performance parts . Then I ask why you feel the need to buy all those hats to cover up the bald spot and daily dose of viagra … 2 grand in the shredder ??? Who the f r u to judge what he spends his money on … and there are people actually like his comment ??? So toxic
If someone wants to "soup up" what is essentially a fancy electric honda CRV/RAV4 and throw away 2 grand on a fraction of a second software update, then have at it! But personally I think its crazy and yes you are throwing your money in the shredder for essentially nothing. Disagree with me? That's fine but I will say whatever I please so you sir, can suck it up!

Still on the roller coaster myself... day 11 of a VIN with no delivery scheduled, SA has no idea where the car is, can't GPS it and has no clue why or where it is, no apparent transport information nothing. Mentioned that maybe something had to be replaced on the car and that's what's going on, but again, no real clue. EDD on the account page is still showing 25-30 which is 4 days from now and 9 days till they miss the window. Starting to get an ulcer from worrying about it now. Like, seriously... someone knows where that car is sitting. Even if the SIM is not active and they can't GPS it, it is either sitting on a lot in Fremont, on a train or a trailer or in a lot already someplace else... either way someone at Tesla knows where it is. JUST TELL ME! I honestly don't care if I can't take delivery of it until the 15th of July. I just want you to tell me you know where my car is and what is going on... 11 days of "im sorry I don't know where it is I can't GPS it" is getting OLD o_O

I'm in the same boat. VIN on June 10, EDD window of June 24-30, SC has no clue (even told me it hadn't been built yet, but I see VIN 209xxx being delivered to others). Would welcome anyone's thoughts on how to see if anyone there knows what might be going on.

to you its a fancy electric family station wagon, to me thats the last thing i would say the MY is lol. and you realize ppl send alot more on cars to get it a half second quicker?

i think you're being judgemental, he has a point. ppl spend their money in different ways. women spent $600 twice a year on botox. and your wife (if you have one) has probably spent either a few thousands on cosmetics, clothing, or mani/pedis. which to me is throwing money in the shredder lol.

I went with the Performance on my step dad's MY, solely because I know I would enjoy it the few times I'll drive it, when he likely will be in Chill mode.

I will always take 1 day later EDD over September-October scares.

Current Estimated Delivery: June 24 - June 30

To those paying for the 2K upgrades on non MYP send it! That sounds fun. If they ever add track mode or a boost to my MYP we have in order I’ll 100% look closely at the upgrade. Like people have mentioned before it’s like modifying a combustion engine the gains for the cost are actually appropriate. I can see how people might say it’s silly that it’s a software update but 🤷‍♂️

I don't have any insight, but I'm in north NJ, which is a popular location for deliveries (always packed at Springfield and Paramus) and there's no shortage of Tesla's in the area. My order date was May 6, VIN received around June 1, completed profile (insurance/financing) on June 7, scheduled delivery on June 8th for June 18th, took delivery on June 18th.

So for me, it was about 6 weeks all in. We were originally going to play the NJ and federal tax credit game, but I need my Model 3 back right after 4th of July for my company's return to work, so we were happy with the timing. We're also planning a road trip over the 4th so it will be nice to have the bigger car.
