I released my delivery yesterday, 7/12/21. I’m getting a MY Long Range AWD, Blue with induction wheels, Black interior, No FSD.

This morning I had an EDD of September 18- September 30. I assumed it would be delivered at the end of the quarter, I just hope its doesn’t go past September.

Long Range All-Wheel Drive
Deep Blue Metallic Paint
20’’ Induction Wheels
All Black Premium Interior

Question. I’m in California and still haven’t completed the insurance task because I haven’t gotten a vin. Would not completed the insurance task delay me getting a vin?
I too am in California and I just uploaded my old insurance card that had my Honda (which I had already sold) on it as a placeholder. I'm having my MYLR delivered tomorrow morning so I bought a new insurance policy on Sunday and will just show the email confirmation (temporary insurance card) to my home delivery specialist.

I live on the big island of Hawaii and we don’t even have a Tesla store/service center on this island. We have to have our car shipped from California to Oahu to big island which is an extra $1100 on top of the normal “transportation fee”. I really hope I love this car because I would have to fly to Oahu to schedule a test drive and that sounds like too much of a pain right now.
So if you do need service will they send a Mobile Ranger to the Big Island, or do you have to ship the car to a neighboring island? Big Island is beautiful, well all of the Hawaiian islands are. I loved jumping off the southernmost point of the USA into the Pacific.

When we visited Maui I only saw one or two Model S the entire week and always wondered where they charge or get serviced.

Just upload your current insurance ID Card/proof of insurance. I uploaded mine for a car that I was selling to Vroom. California doesn’t require a VIN on your insurance policy when getting a new car.

I'll go ahead and just upload my old insurance as well just in case. I ordered a week after you for pickup in Fremont. Hopefully I get a vin soon.

Well, good news is I ordered my white on white Model Y LR 19 today. The bad news is I just clicked through accepting the default options and selected Tyco in Virginia as my delivery location--it was the suggested location closest to me--but in fact I live in Maryland. Being military lots of time state differences don't matter to me, but in buying a car they do and it just didn't click for me! I don't want to buy it in Virginia--taxes are higher, if I 'import' the car to Maryland I need an inspection, they'd give me temp tags, all that mess. So has anybody had to change a delivery location? I can't do it in the app, can a Tesla guy do it with a few clicks or am I stuck? I wont really be stuck, worst case I'll just cancel, eat the $100, and reorder for delivery in Maryland. But is this fixable? I assume it is, but you never know.

I don't have experience but you can try contacting them via chat or calling a location near you. Others may be able to help more though. I'd say it wouldn't hurt contacting Tesla.

Bear with me here.

One day you wake up and compulsively check for updates to your EDD, same as every morning. To your shock and joy you see a VIN smiling back at you, like a stork heralding the arrival of a new member of your family. Without haste, you rush to TMC to update one and all on your arrival. Congratulations abound.

The next day, sadly where there once was a beautiful VIN on your account page, you find that abandoned you in the night and now is replaced by: “October”. You return to TMC to share the terrible news. As you are scrolling through the 6 new pages that were created through the night by restless Tesla waiters, you find a post towards the end: “I JUST GOT MY VIN!!! OMG! SO HAPPY! [insert the VIN that was once yours] “

How does one respond?
Ffffffffffffff
Wish I had an SA to call and see if I got different info than blindly calling the nearest center. It seems not everyone has an SA so not sure why?
This is what I get….Tesla Order Support - We are happy to answer your questions but some information is protected internal information, such as the factory production schedule.

They can change it (if it's even shown as available). But my understanding is you pay taxes based on where it's registered. I can't go to a 0% sales tax state and buy a car and avoid CA sales tax. They should charge you sales taxes based on your address/county/city/state. Not where you pick the car up from.

If tax is your concern, they base taxes off your residence address- not delivery address from what I am aware. If they did that then I would fly to Oregon from California to buy a Tesla at 0% sales tax instead of 10% LOL

I hope that's true--if the Virginia location can coordinate all the Maryland registration details that's great. I live in Maryland, have a Maryland driver's license, pay taxes in Maryland and need to register the car in Maryland. I just selected the Virginia location because Tesla suggested it as closest, but I'm not sure if I technically 'buy' the car in Virginia they can arbitrarily use Maryland tax and get me a Maryland license.

I heard if it’s something small they will send out a mobile ranger but if it’s a big fix then they will pay to have the car shipped to Oahu. I’m kinda nervous about this because I have to accept delivery and final payment before I even see the car so if there are any big issues it’s gonna be a pain.
We don’t have a ton of Tesla’s here yet because we have a horrible charging network and zero superchargers so most people use home charging with solar panels.
