Delivery Inspection Item - Sticker Residue on Dashboard

Anyone else notice a residue or stain or fade on their dash? We didn't see it at pickup but in the sin you can clearly see the Model 3 symbol and stuff. Tried rubbing it off with my hand and rag to no avail. Haven't tried any cleaning products yet...

I have that one too, and I used clean wipe to remove 80% of them, still visible under sunlight

That’s really strange. I’ve seen the detailers miss some less obvious residue on the exterior, but never on the interior. I wonder if the residue transferred from baking in the sun for too long?

They couldn't have been baking in the sun that long, they've been built so recently, and it's winter! I would alert Tesla and you should probably have them try to clean it before using any chemicals on it.

This is the second Model 3 I've seen with this issue... strange (the first was on Reddit, iirc)

I work at a Lexus dealership and we have issues with paper work ( simple printed black and white sheets ) left on the dashbaord of cars creating a "shadow" . not sure how it happens some type of transfer

example a salesperson prints a sheet out that says " sold" or reserved for Jim Smith" and leaves it on the dash in the sun for a week

later the new owners sees a shadow of the words on the dash.

apparently the remedy is a laying a lint free cloth that has been soaked in hot water onto the affected area and letting it sit for a while.

Yeah trying to play it safe. Service if over 2 hours away though so not a quick stop for something cosmetic. Goal was to help inform others before they pick-up to see it before they leave.

We had the exact same thing on ours. It wasn't visible when we took delivery...showed up about a week later. The service center replaced the entire dashboard cover piece.

A few after we got the car back, the new part is now showing the numerals "200" faintly in the center. It looks like there were some 3" tall number decals on it, and there's adhesive residue. Very strange. I'm bringing it back to the SC tomorrow morning...

Maybe the residue is collecting dust and causing it to show later...

Maybe Tesla used a chemical of some sort on the dash to seal it against the sun, and it doesn't get a chance to cure before they slap some paperwork on it and push it out to the staging lot outside the factory.

I just got back from the SC. They said that the "200" I saw looked like the numbers they use when tracking cars in the center -- so it was probably numerals they put on the dash and then my car sat in the sun for a couple of days last week.

She said she cleaned it with a Clorox wipe and it came right off. (Hopefully it won't reappear in a day or two..!)

So... don't leave anything on the dash when the car is in the sun!

Some may like to get their car a new tatoo. So, if you do leave something on it, make sure it's creative!

Mine has a beautiful stylized logo "3" baked in...alas it's not centered and off angle. At first I thought it was on purpose...now I see it was part of some paperwork that blocked the sun which bleached the rest of the dash a lighter shade of pale.

They replaced my entire dash cover the first time. The second time they were able to clean it with a clorox wipe.

They were gracious about the whole thing, handled it quickly and professionally, and definitely did not make a "stink" about it at all!

I saw someone got it off with hand sanitizer. Not my first choice of a cleaner, but it worked apparently.

I guess I'll definitely be ordering a windshield sunshade for my Model 3.
