For our gate opener, I had to open the housing door, pull out the remote receiver, remove its cover and find the learn button on the circuit board. After pressing the learn button, pressing the homelink entry on the screen completed the process.
For the second home you’ll just have to manually open it on the home link screen. No geo fence. But I think you can use the same code like any other homelinkAnybody have TWO houses with a single code for both? All my cars I program with the one code, but the geofence on the Tesla is going to require a second entry for the same code. That seems silly. Am I wrong? Is there a way to have two addresses pop up the HomeLink button?

Also have a liftmaster 8500 and unable to learn the model 3. My Model S worked just fine. The model 3 read the remote code fine but just won't learn it.Just had a 8500 installed replacing a 20+ year old Genie. Now i just need my 3 to go with it.
Does the remote that you used to teach the model 3 have lighted blue buttons or the older red led? The tesla website had issues with a "blue" button remote from somers. I wonder if I need to order a older liftmaster remote.LiftMaster 8550 and 8500. Works fine. My dad has a Craftsman I'll be setting up later next month when I go visit him.
Red, but the openers are only 2 years old. Far as I know, they're still the same ones sold for Liftmasters today.Does the remote that you used to teach the model 3 have lighted blue buttons or the older red led?
