Just following up in case it helps anyone, but I ended up with these issues: consistently says "driver assistance unavailable", GPS is not working, and it stopped sensing day/night so the LCD display was always in "night mode". I called Tesla service, they checked logs, talked with engineering, and think I have a bad control unit. I have a service appointment in two weeks.
