Does anyone know whether a toll road transponder (FasTrak in SoCal) can function from inside the nosecone? I assume the things use RF, so should not have signal blocked by nosecone plastic.

Says "Valid Fastrak"
every time. I do sort of worry about it so I pay close attention to the speed
on the signs at the tollbooth and get down to the printed speed.
Dunno about SoCal, but in NorCal, with FasTrak touching top of windshield and
right side of mirror (that little area with minimal black window paint)
I've never had a problem getting a reading on a bridge. Says "Valid Fastrak"

I am in Northern California, and have had my FasTrak in my nosecone since purchase (2013). It works 100% of the time; I also don't have a front license plate installed, so I know that the FasTrak is the device that is getting read. The SC installed it for me.
With FasTrak in the nose cone, if you drive on 680 in the Commute Lane/Toll Road will you be charged as if you are a solo driver using the Commuter Lane?

We discussed this earlier in another thread... The conclusion is if the windshield doesn't work for you, the rear glass does work. I just put mine on the parcel shelf and it scans fine here in SoCal. Nose cone and front windshield were impossible for me.
Impossible because you couldn't mount it in the nosecone or it didn't work there?
It didn't work for me there.. I only got license plate reads on my statement. Also pretty tight and I'd worry about water.... Well, if it rained at all here!
