If no delay then low reservation holders should be getting their VINs this week (which I'm assuming they have asked for). I've asked but don't expect mine prior to the start of my delivery window of 1/21.

Ok, so I got a call from the Delivery Specialist tonight.

Looks like my previous estimate is going to be missed - previously was told delivery between 1/21 and 2/7

New estimate is production complete before end of the month, and delivery more likely is 2/15 or thereabouts. 8 (

OK, looks like I misunderstood: the original estimate (above) is still valid, but represents the production completion date where delivery is completed FOB Fremont. The transportation to Texas would take another period they quote as 7-10 days - i know some have observed weird delays before shipment and even during shipment, but 5 day shipment is possible as well.

So, in summary: there appears to be no delay in the delivery dates, but there should always have been a delivery period added to the estimate.

I think that Ceilidh's earlier post about what TMC represented is the most instructive: "It takes about 10 days for a car to be built form start to finish at this point in time. As a result, VINs are being assigned about 10 or so days before the car is due to be completed. No reason to worry unless you are less than 10 days prior to the last day of your window and have not yet been contacted."

Thus, even for the earliest delivery window holders (1-12 - 1-26 for early factory pickups), there is no need to push the panic button until 10 days before the 26th, or the 16th. Also, a poster on the TMC official website forum said last week that he was told to expect receiving his 60kw VIN by the end of this week.

So I guess that we should give TMC another seven days or so before marching guns blazing and arms swinging. And since the last day of my delivery window is on Feb 3, I won't freak out until Jan 24th.

Days are getting longer and longer...i feel like a school kid counting days until summer vacation...sigh...

Just interacted with a product specialist (not a DS) who indicated that I should be getting the VIN and the final paperwork within a week from now. No delays that he could see. Even if the amount's a little off, he promised to prep the MVPA with the exact financed amount from PenFed to prevent any delays there; I'll take care of any deltas with Tesla directly at delivery time - I've already paid up by wire transfer what I think is the final downpayment.

He asked for (and I provided promptly by email) copies of my wife's and my Driver's Licenses and proof of car insurance. This should get everything in place the prep for (factory) delivery apparently.

That's so encouraging! I just sent my PenFed loan application yesterday.

Did they show you the delivery estimate before you chose delivery location? And if so, did it change when you selected the location? They showed me 1/27-2/10 before I selected factory pickup, and then emailed we with the same date range after I selected factory pickup.

Do i need to reach out to them to get a ds assigned and get these balls rolling at some point? Or should i expect proactive contact?

I would also ask: is the call from a local dealer or a local number, or is it from the Fremont area based on the area code?

I get a lot of unwanted calls from all kinds of numbers, and I may just have to begin responding to them just in case it's TMC :(

I sent a note to [email protected] yesterday since my window is getting closer (1/24-2/7) and a few hours later, the assigned DS called me and she said it looks like I am off by a week. It is no big deal for me. She immediately sent me a note requesting for few information like driver license and others. She seems to be good to work with.
