True, but plastic is a better thermal insulator than glass. A IR coating on the outer pane will absorb the heat and the plastic will help the inner pane stay cool in the summer. Same benefit in reverse in the winter.

I am not sure how they are going to fit thicker glass in the front windows without new rubber seals, and potentially more. When I looked at the pieces, my front door glass already doesn't sit flush on the B pillar, and there are going to be a few more changes necessary to fit thicker glass.

Just looked in the parts catalog and other than listing both the laminated and non-laminated glass, there is no indication that any other parts in the doors, seals, motors or otherwise, have changed.
The M3 shows no difference in window regulators, but there are 2 options each for interior door panels (2 for white, 2 for black interior). Not sure if that was because they made a design change over time, or is it a design change for the laminated glass.
This is great news! I just rejected a VIN so I hope we all get 63xxx VINs or above. I will keep rejecting until I get it. Haha!
I have a 644xx VIN I’m picking up tomorrow. I’ll report back if it has dual pane front side windows.

There is a rumor that new door panels are coming to the Model 3 in January. Perhaps Tesla has already put the new part numbers out? Same guy says new Y door panels are coming later in the year, July. Says no feature changes, but different in some capacity.

Any way to measure front and back and see if there is a thickness difference ?
Also throw in a couple shots of the steering wheel and console. Wondering if the Y is getting those same changes the 3 is shown on the web as getting but appears to not be shipping yet.
