Don't really want to jump on someone else's thread, but if you do have the charger installed on the outside of a building (garage), how do you control who can and can't use it?
Yes that's what I meant. Also went tethered and have no regrets avoids the fumbling in the boot getting charging cable out when you get home, it's raining and you need to charge.Thank you. By that do you mean a kind of petrol pump set up with a built in cable (tethered) or just a socket and use the car lead (untethered)?
I figured tethered would be better as would save having to get the lead our each time.

Thank youI had a pod point tethered charger installed (as it was the one offered on Nhsfleetsolutions). They came when agreed, did the work as I suggested and left. Was completely seamless - unlike the Tesla
It’s not the best looking charger and the app is just about functional but for convenience and considered it’s worked from day 1 I cannot complain. They get a thumbs up from me!
Thanks, he did mention this but can't remember what he said. The Matt:e device has been created to resolve/avoid/work around the earth spike issue.
Does this price look reasonable? I appreciate every installation will be slightly different so not always comparable.

He recommended Myenergi Zappi as it has extra stuff built in meaning it doesn't need an earth rod. Also compatible if I ever decided to get solar panels one day.
Do a forum search for problems with that device. imho, its an upsell. Earth rods have been installed and used successfully for decades (and will continue to do so for many more) and I would worry about an installer who thought that they were tricky things to install.
I saw them, they look quite nice. Where does the cable go if not visible, buried?I’m thinking of the Andersen A2 as my other half likes it (no visible cable) and doesn’t need an earth rod. Not the cheapest though.
