I have less than 1K miles on my car. Its a 2017.

The car isn't bad.. it's a nice car.

Yes there are some "things" they could've done a whole lot better...

There are some poorly executed features on the car.

My auto steer/cruise control/ tacc etc.. etc... doesn't work...

The car isn't perfect by any means.

But in comparison....I DON'T like Tesla the car company.

Their service, behind the smiles and politeness, is poorly executed.

    1. You'll be lucky to get a perfectly delivered car...
    2. If you have issues on your car.. you'll likely not have your car for weeks..
    3. You may or may not even get a Tesla loaner vehicle
    4. You may or may not even get a clean loaner vehicle.
    5. You may get a Tesla that's all beat up and several years old.
    6. Once you get your car back, likely, there will be other problems w/ the car, that wasn't there when you first left it.
    7. Good luck getting a service appointment, it's weeks away, if they even bother to call you back, or schedule you!
    8. More or less likely, you have to push and DEMAND a service appointment.

I'm still on #8.. unable to get a service appointment!

The car is fine.. but the company is really something (@#$#@) ...

    1. The sales guys have no power
    2. The service personnel have no power
    3. Good luck working w/ the service manager.. if you can even reach him, or if he chooses to return your emails and/or phone calls
    4. Good luck contacting Tesla corporate, all they do is route your messages to a local center, and now you're back at #2
    5. Good luck calling Tesla corporate, all they do is contact the local service center, and you're back at #2 again...

I seriously think I should've bought a different "car company"...

Never had this happen to me. The rest in the first list, I can sort of relate to.

In regards to #8... It looks like you're in the Los Angeles area, I took delivery at the Burbank Service Center and thus far, have had no issues setting up a service or, getting a tesla loaner car for the duration of the repair.

I'm someone who is very positive on both the car and the company, but I can understand where you're coming from on this post. Your situation is not unique - it has happened to many others. You are not alone, and I stand in solidarity with you.

How many different threads are you going to start where you complain about the same things?

Methinks you should just sell your car and move on. Life is too short.

I have lots of issues with my Model S but I have not attempted to make a service call yet because my time is scarce and the closest center is 1 1/2 hours a way so if I drop it off that takes 3 hours on its own and 3 hours to get back there

I have many minor issues with my Model S...

    Molding alignments
    Wind-noise from sun roof
    Rattles from the sun roof
    Sunroof that only opens sometimes
Folding mirrors that only open sometimes
Wheels rub when turning the steering wheel
Water gets retained for days in the doors after it rains and even a few days later if I open a window and close it the window comes up with water on it.

I am just waiting for the list to get larger and hopefully bring it in for all these issues in one shot. I only have 3k miles on mine.

Maybe it's because you are in L.A. Not an excuse for Tesla though. They need to up their game!
While I loved getting a Tesla loaner and it was clean , I considered this a perk. All car companies have loaners but good luck getting one. The best I usually had gotten was a ride home.
We all know service appointments can take 3-4 months. Again, Tesla needs to up their game! At this rate the Model 3 will kill the reputation

I don't "whine" to my neighbors..

I just speak honestly about my Tesla experience on TMC.

I hope balance the "fanboys" who are online about Tesla... and give an honest assessment of the vehicle and the company.

I feel your pain and concur that Tesla's service is poorly executed. I'd rate my experience with Tesla about on par with my experience with most cable companies.

I browse TMC on mobile browser and use the "latest post" option to read the newest writings.

Bluntly, your complaint threads are very frequent and say substantially the same thing over and over.

If the car is causing you this much problem, you should dump it. And if Tesla simply hasn't repaired it properly, you should look into your state's lemon laws and try to get Tesla to buy the car back. That's the only way Tesla improves. Complaining here to excess will not get the message to Tesla, and almost nobody here can help you.

Tesla needs to do a better job screening buyers.

I think OP's post will help potential buyers to have a balanced view of the car and the company. That's a good thing.

It would be great if Tesla either followed their advertised loaner car policy or amended it.

I had a serious issue with my newly delivered car 2 weeks ago (cracked in the a pillar structure) and I have to say that almost everyone treated the situation as well as they could have given the circumstances. I emailed he issue along with pics to my delivery specialist at 10pm and got a call from the service center the next morning to bring the car in. This then of course went down a rabbit as no body have seen such a defect. I got a loaner while it is being sorted out and in the end, the decision was to ship the original car back to the factory and have them make a new one. Now, I am still working on the rebuild and transfer process so it is not out of the woods yet, but am cautiously optimistic that Tesla will do make this work out in the end.

Note that I also have other minor issues is slightly mis-aligned door and missing paint patch on the side view mirror, but are nothing that I can't wait for and got an apt scheduled on my 2nd day of ownership for 3 weeks out (before discovering the cracked a-pillar) for service to fix those up.

Well my honest assessment, based on over six years of interactions, is all positive.

Does that make me a fangirl because I haven't had the same experience as you? Or is that just an easy way to dismiss any real life experience that is not in alignment with your beliefs? Six plus years of experience. Seems like that should count for something.

That's exactly the type of service I've witnessed and personally experienced. Thanks for sharing.
