In the event that Tesla autosteer fails to disengage automatically or manually, will human input on the steering wheel be enough to override it?

In the event that Tesla autosteer fails to disengage automatically or manually, will human input on the steering wheel be enough to override the strength of a stuck autosteer motor?
And is human steering mechanical or drive by wire?

There is no autosteer motor. It’s an electric power steering rack (like most cars these days) so it does have a motor that’s used for both power assist and Autosteer. It does disengage on steering wheel input over a certain threshold. I swear the threshold gets much lower when turning than when going straight ahead.
Electric power steering does introduce some scary hypothetical failure modes but I’ve never heard of it happening so manufacturers must be being super careful.
