Instead of a recap, I'm going to "live blog" my CPO experience here and will update as things happen

Moving quickly. The car is in Atlanta and Jana just called me to schedule my pick up. It’s scheduled for Wednesday 5/1 at noon eastern. I told her I needed confirmation about the bike racks being taken off and she is on it. Have to say she has been great since I sent that email last week letting her know about my disappointment in the lack of communication. She’s clearly got a million things to do, I get it.

Anyway here’s hoping I’m headed to Atl Wednesday

no dont...

because they wont just take it back if your not happy with it with a home delivery.
You will still be charged that delivery.
They wont leave the car with you unless you sign acceptance, and when you do, thats it...
They will say YOU did it, the car was perfect and immaculate.

Also if you think presale service is this bad.... well, post sales is several times worse on an exponential scale. Especially on a CPO car.

Goto the distrubution center, which is most likely Marina Del Ray.

Take a flashlight, and also take a ruler.
Use the flashlight to determine blemishes in paint so you can inspect if its been in an accident they didnt disclose about.
Use the ruler to determine how much the panels are not even or flushed.

Do not take the keys or sign acceptance of delivery for ANYTHING until you are satisified, and you have in writing or some form of proof they will correct what needs to be corrected.

Because if and when you do, thats it.
You will be in service center hell, and eventually pinged down in the system so far, that they will later say they have no record of anything you are saying.

This happened to a friend of mine who also went though the CPO nightmare in hell, and it completely killed him with Tesla, and future Tesla's.

I love the car, i hate the company it stands behind, as well as 70% of the people who work for the company as well.
They have no clue on how to give service for a car so expensive, and treat it like a typical Chinese Amazon vendor.

A ruler !! on a used car. Give me a break. It's customers like this that will never be satisfied.
I didn't bring a ruler for brand new car. If it looks good to your eye, it's fine. Folks need to be a little less nerotic.

I do agree though, pick up at service center and schedule it for day light hours, ideally in the morning.

I'm sure those racks can be removed if they have no key. It just might be a bit more work that the SC might not be equipped to do.
Don't let them learn on your car. Hire a locksmith or call around a few installers and find one comfortable with getting them off.
They are typically cheap locks on racks. I could probably pick most of them with a small screw driver and a paper clip. Or a dent puller (screw it in and yank out the tumbler).

I'm sure it would be easier than something like this.

Thanks all. Already a little issue. There’s a sure enough whine at highway speeds. Sounds like it’s speaker buzz. When I let off the accelerator it stops. Hopefully this will be resolved.

Also my front passenger speaker is blown. Hi fidelity system

Yeah there’s no way this whiney buzz sounds is normal. Sounds like my dad’s old truck that had a bad ground on the stereo.
My guess is the little amp has gone bad. I believe the UFS equipped P85D I just acquired had similar issues. I don't have the rev whine you describe but one of my speakers (front passenger) sounds blown and the rears are producing almost no audio. If it was just the one "blown" speaker I'd say the speaker is blown but with the others issues I have a feeling the little amp under the left knee cover area is bad.

I placed my order for a 90D Tesla last Wednesday, May 1st. I had Jana assigned as my Delivery Advisor on Thursday evening. Have not heard anything from her, yet, but I only have her email address. Could someone who worked with her, and that has her phone number, PM me her full contact information including her phone number? I'd really appreciate it. My sales advisor has been pretty good so far. I'm really excited to get the car and have planned for a lot of patience, but planning and doing are two very different things. Looking forward to joining the Tesla family.

In the short time I’ve been here, one thing I’ve learned is that Tesla reps never answer the phone and their vm boxes are always full.

Good luck with the purchase experience. Jana was also my delivery specialist. I cancelled my order from frustration and bought my S elsewhere. Hope yours turns out better than mine. Here's the number I contacted her at. 510-602-3815. You'll love the car once you get it.

Good luck buddy. Just know going in that communication is going to be almost nonexistent and time budget 3-4 weeks to get your car.

You need to give it a couple of days and then call the delivery center where you are getting the car and ask them for an update. The DC in Decatur, GA was my only life line in getting updates and they were super helpful. Funny they could look and tell me in real time yet no one else seemed to know what was going on. My sales advisor was really good but I felt like I was wearing him out.

Also, do not bother calling Jana, her vm is always full and she doesn't answer. She was very nice and helpful the couple of times she called me but honestly don't waste your time.
