Is the new Macan EV a MY killer?

not $30k better. maybe $10k better in some areas, and the rest of the cost is just the name you pay for it. Also, the average price of Macan will be at least the double the price of MYs.
I would say it probably is $30k better. But most model Y buyers won’t be able to afford a Macan.

The Macan is a niche vehicle due to the price. A more likely MY killer is the Honda Prologue, although the AWD versions have a sub 300 mile EPA range. Then, you have to consider that it's partially a GM vehicle.

You're going to be surprised how many people will buy the Prologue just because it's a Honda.
What kind of Porsche buyer buys the poverty spec Macan EV? Its a nice product once spec'd correctly, but then its not comparable to MY.
Not yet, but model S sales have been dwindling and Taycan trending up. I myself bought a Plaid due to the price drops, but when it comes time for replacement, I can’t see myself sticking with Tesla unless they make something truly special by then.
+1. Just like the unfortunate people who bought VW, Volvo, Mach E’s, Nissan, GM (other than Bolts), and Toyota/Subaru EVs. Overpriced, technically inferior and infrastructure challenged but brand loyal buyers just thought with the brands experience surely they’d make decent EVs - NOT so far. Hyundai-Kia-Genesis have sold a lot from brand loyalty too but at least they’re better EVs than the ones above.
Porsche is not an everyday man vehicle. The Y with the $7,500 EV tax credit is at the upper limits of the everyday man. States with higher cost of living average $70,000 per year. States with lower cost of living average $45,000 per year.
The Rav4 Prime seems to be a contender if Toyota can churn them out at the same pace as Tesla can churn out Y's. Severe lack of inventory (1 year wait list) is hurting their EV and hybrid sales.

That would potentially be me, I always have a second practical car and at the moment it is a model Y (used to be a prius)

Other than being a completely different class of vehicle that is easily twice the price in any comparable trim
Porsche will be lucky to sell one Macan for every 10-15 Model Ys. That’s all they really want to sell TBH.
