Splitter!

On I-90, St. Regis, MT splits 109.3 miles, 95.9 miles from Coeur d'Alene, ID and 13.9 miles to Superior, MT.
Pathetic Splitter!!

(but quite helpful for those heading to Glacier NP)

Splitter!

On I-40, Milan, NM splits 145.8 miles, 63.4 miles from Gallup, NM, 82.9 miles to Albuquerque, NM. This is #8 on the list.

The thread is Grants, NM because that's what Tesla had on its findus. Milan, NM is a few miles northwest of Grants, NM.

Triple Splitter!

On I-35 splits 155.2 miles, 98 miles from Ardmore, OK, 63.3 miles to Perry, OK. That's #6 on the list.
On I-40 pathetically splits 194.4 miles, 8.1 miles from Oklahoma City, OK, 187.5 miles to Van Buren, AR. That's #3 on the list.
On I-44 splits 242.1 miles, 137.5 miles from Wichita Falls, TX, 105.2 miles to Tulsa, OK. That's #1 on the list.

This week's batch of splitters has had a noticeable affect on the Interstate Supercharger counts:

Splitter!

Pathetic? On I-39 Stevens Point, WI splits 131.7 miles, 107.5 miles from Madison - E Washington Ave, WI, 26.7 miles to End (US51/WI29 near Wausau, WI). Not so pathetic since although the gap will still be over 100 miles, in winter that's still a helpful reduction. I think a further splitter in Portage, WI would do it.

That's #16 on the list. (I changed the gap distance because I adjusted the entry to be from the v3 Madison instead of the older v2.)

Southaven, MS is open. It split the #2 gap from Grenada, MS to Miner, MO. Anyone passing through Memphis, TN on I-55 should no longer have to divert to a Memphis Supercharger.

However, it's still 156.2 miles from Southaven, MS to Miner, MO which is now the #5 gap. So, no addition at the bottom of the #25 list, but the sum of the distances on the list is reduced and only a single gap remains over 200 miles, and that has a Permit status splitter!

Splitter!

On I-77 New Philadelphia, OH will split 121.8 miles, 39.7 miles from Cambridge, OH, and 82.9 miles to the end at I-90 in Cleveland, OH.
It's #26 on the list, so should appear in the table reasonably soon.

That didn't take long.

Guin, AL is open. That was #18 on the list.
#25 is now the above gap, which already has a Splitter! Findus Q2 2023, but this is Ohio, so we could expect a utility delay.
There's also North Canton, OH that is findus Q3 2023 and would further split the longer split, so maybe the same crew will do both.

As an indication of the progress that Tesla is making, when Plainview, TX was identified in February, it was a splitter of joint 24th at 124 miles. Now the other 124 is up to 22nd and 25th is 121.8 miles. Also there are 6 identified Splitters! in the top 25, several of which are under construction, plus several more Pathetic Splitters! which will move some of the larger gaps down the table.

Also for @PLUS EV, there are 9 remaining gaps of 140 miles or more and there are 2 identified Splitters that will at least reduce the gap below 140 miles, 1 of which is under construction and 1 will reduce 2 gaps.

Pathetic Splitter!

Pathetic Splitter! On I-81 Wilkes-Barre Township, PA splits 115.2 miles, 103.2 miles from Harrisburg, PA, 14.5 miles to Moosic, PA.
Opening now it would split the #36 gap and move it down to joint #62nd.

Actually will be a very good v3 site as it's in a v2 stretch on I-81 and the I-80/I-81/I-84 connection.

Top 25:
4 Construction (2 Pathetic!)
8 Permit (5 Pathetic!, plus 1 so big it'll make a Top 25 and a >100!)
13 no Splitter!

72 total remaining:
8 Construction (3 Pathetic!)
16 Permit (7 Pathetic!)
48 no Splitter!

On I-30, Hope, AR splits 131.9 miles, 32.4 miles from Texarkana, TX and 99.8 miles to Little Rock, AR.
It's gap #15. That's now 3 proper top 25 splitters under construction, plus 2 pathetic.

On I-15, Scipio, UT will split 114.7 miles, 80.4 miles from Beaver - 525 W, UT, 34.9 miles to Nephi - S Main St, UT.

Not only that, but Scipio is also where US50 leaves its short concurrence with Interstate 15 to meet up with Interstate 70 in Salina. US50 joins Interstate 15 further south (north of Holden) coming from Delta and from the planned Supercharger in Ely, Nevada, a distance of ~200 miles. A Supercharger in Austin, Nevada should permit most models to traverse US50 east of Carson City all the way to Interstate 70 and avoid taking Interstate 80.

Maybe the "Loneliest Road in America" will soon be less lonely.

Pathetic Splitter! On I-35, Natalia, TX splits 173.5 miles, 125.5 miles from Laredo, TX, 48.6 miles to Schertz.
That's the #4 gap on the US Interstates, which would be split down to #20.

However, that gap already has Splitters! There's also San Antonio - E Basse Rd, TX already under construction. San Antonio - E Basse Rd, TX is 160.3 miles from Laredo, TX, 16.2 miles to Schertz, TX, with a 3 mile, 7:46 diversion.

Also a blue dot for San Antonio - Broadway, TX, which would be a 1.9 mile, 5:45 diversion.

So this location is likely to end up as a pathetic Splitter! of another pathetic Splitter!, but as the best potential Splitter! I'll update the table with Natalia, TX.

Tesla really needs a SC in Fallon NV. Intersection of US 50 and US 95. The portion of US 50 between Fallon and Ely should be pretty easy for most Teslas. As a backup, there are extant CCS chargers in between. (And when I did it several years ago, I used 14-50s at RV parks in Ely and Cold Springs Station. CHAdeMO in Fallon.)

Yes
1) Because it's at the intersection of _two_ US Numbered Highways.
2) Fallon's CCS charger has a PlugShare rating of 4.4/10, and last note says currently down. Also
Middlegate Station 1 CCS, 6.6/10, down
Austin 2 CCS, 10/10
Eureka, NV 2 CCS 10/10.
Ely, NV 1 CCS, 2.4/10, up
Baker, NV 2 CCS, 4.4, down

So to me, thinking more strategically
Fallon, NV: US-50, US-95 (crossroads)
Ely, NV: US-6, US-50 (start of concurrency)
Delta, UT: US-6, US-50 (end of concurrency)

That would make it a lot easier to cross Nevada, although you'd need CCS in Austin, NV or Eureka, NV
Add in Austin, NV and Supercharge all the way.

A Pathetic Splitter! (barely) on I-55, splitting 156.2 miles, 16.6 miles from Southaven, MS and 149.2 miles to Miner, MO, but with a 9.6 mile diversion.
Still, it would reduce the maximum gap on I-55 below 150 miles.
