MikeK, Hugely excellent configuration. I'll be cursing spots while you are flying in Clean White. 60kWh a necessary sacrifice for me, allowing all the benefits of Tech Pack and Audiophile Upgrade. Bravo! No buyers remorse - just 100 days countdown...
Does R129 mean the 129th reservation paid? Clairfy if you know - I'll chek mine - thanks

Thanks!

R129 is sort of shorthand here, not an official Tesla designation -- it means that I'm on the Roadster Friends and Family sequence (after signatures, right at the start of general production), and the 129th on that list. I don't own a Roadster, but a friend does, and for a brief period Roadster owners could give a limited number of friends a place on the list, so, yay! :) Although I have a very early production number, the fact that I am getting the 60kWh pack means that people with higher numbers who are taking the 85kWh may get their cars a bit before I get mine, but I think it won't make more than a few weeks' difference unless something unexpected happens.

Looks like the "My Tesla" and design studio has some sort of bug. When I go into My Tesla, it has a Perf model in "my garage" with a "finalize" option. I don't seem to have any way to get a non-perf model in there. I can go design one and save that design, but there's no finalize option. I can delete all my designs and it still has the perf model in "my garage". Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to kick the Perf model out of my garage to put a base model in it.

Have you tried clicking on the finalize button, then clicking on edit to do your change?

Delivery timing

Finalized and signed!

60kWh, white, tan, matte obeche, panoramic, air suspension, 19" wheels, tech and audio packages, parcel shelf and HPWC (but no second charger).

R129, estimated November/December 2012 (due to the 60 kWh I'm sure)

:-D :-D :-D

MikeK - We are R123 and finalized our config on 8/15 w/ 85kWh battery and was given the same estimate delivery date. We were holding off till the AmpedUp event came to town. From my prior garage configuration (which had grey interior) the delivery date slid out from previous Oct estimate. You may have heard previous communications was that grey leather would result in a delayed delivery. Given that I used all 30 days from configuration notification to finalized config (although ended up deciding on tan leather) I asked the config specialist if I dropped back in the production sequence.

His response was "no, that they have adjusted the delivery schedule to a more conservative outlook". Your timeline further confirms that we will be in the same time window and it appears regardless of battery size. Congrats. I know I am looking forward to the new car experience.

Not at all. I originally had the same concern, but my rep assured me there were a number of steps that had to be taken before anything was really finalized, so go ahead and play around with it.
And I did, including making a couple changes to the config before finishing the "Finalize" process. You can play around with it, exit and come back as you're ready to continue.

Well, still no way to change from Perf back to base once you're in the finalize portion. I'll have to email Tesla.

I have yet to receive the "Finalize" button in my garage page, but does the finalize page contain a configuration breakdown like in the original design page?

If so, is the red "MODEL" text under "MODEL > Model S Performance" clickable? In the original design page, clicking that will prompt you to confirm a change in car model.

Yeah, I actually used more than my 30 days -- I used 35 days, I think, because I was giving myself heartburn over the color selection. It's interesting that the timing worked out such that the choice of the 60kWh pack doesn't seem to make a big difference to when I could get my car delivered. 90 days from my "due date" was in November anyway. If I had not used the extra 5 days, and if I had chosen the 85kWh pack, maybe I could have gotten the car a couple of weeks sooner, but it doesn't sound like it would be more than that.

Now I just want the car! :) I have various activities planned this fall that would be much more fun with the added range compared to my RAV. Ah, well. Soon enough.
