Master Thread: 3 Delivery experiences

Had an interesting experience at pickup. Showed up right at my scheduled time. Could not find any Tesla employees anywhere. There were a bunch of us waiting. Finally found someone who called someone to come get me.

Guy asked me to sit down and send the payment (I was using plaid to pay online). I asked if I could look at the car first before I paid and he had this weird look and said "ah, okay. If you really want to". I asked if it was weird to look at something first before paying $45,000 and he said "yes, it is is bit unusual here". He then told me they allocate 15-20 minutes per pickup to which I told him I would take as long as needed to look at the car.

After that things went fine and I love the car and the guy turned out to be nice, just a little off. I just cant help but thinking how bizarre it is that everyone at Tesla thinks you should be grateful for the privledge of buying their product. This attitude towards customers needs to change ASAP or they will eventually get run over by competition.
We must have had the same guy. Haha. I also asked about looking the car over before signing and he acted weird. Then said he could just rip the papers up if there were any issues.

We took delivery of my wife's Model 3 yesterday at the local Service Center and it was an odd experience. We did everything we could online, so that left only a few papers to sign. The guy then gave us the key cards and said to take as long as we wanted and flash the lights if we had any questions. After that, we could accept delivery and be on our way. We have purchased many new cars and this was probably the quickest and easiest ever. Still the lingering feeling was odd and the people weren't unpleasant, but just seemed off. Anyway, we love the car. Still learning all the features.

My Model 3 was dropped off at my house this morning at 6:30 am. Everything looks great except I have a paint chip on my frunk, a paint chip on the back right passenger door framing, and something nicked my back right rim and tire (the rim is missing a small chunk and the tire is ripped in the same spot). I'll be reaching out to Tesla to see what they can do for me. Other than that, I love the car. Got most of my accessories in and took it for a spin around the neighborhood.

Got my M3P delivered about 2 months ago and love this car. However, this post is to say how great it was working with the Boise service center. I work out of town half my life and it looked like taking delivery was going to be impossible. Thanks to the Boise Team that worked got me my car before I left town!

As a long time Tesla hater, I ordered a Model 3 Long Range back in June. I got burnt out car dealers while shopping for my ideal ICE car (Honda Type R and M2 Competition) so I ordered after driving my friend's MYP and feeling the acceleration.

I went to a Tesla Corsa Event on 9/18 a few weeks before my car was to be delivered and loved driving one of the attendees cars so much I changed my order to a Performance that evening. My car was originally supposed to be delivered 9/30 but after I changed my order, Tesla started blowing up my account saying they could fulfill the order sooner. I had a few friends in Tesla that told me they fulfill the higher optioned cars first and combined with the end of quarter they rushed my delivery.

It was the weirdest delivery I have ever had for a car. The delivery guy was literally getting into an Uber as I came out of my apartment to claim the car. No explanation of anything with the vehicle except my valet keys were in the cupholder.

I love this thing so much. I now understand what the hype was about.

My Tesla Model 3 finally arrived today via Home Delivery!

Delivery window was 12:00 to 4:00PM. At around 11:30AM, I noticed that there is a white Tesla in front of our house, but across the street. It was too good to be a coincidence :) Then I checked my e-mails and received the delivery notification e-mail. I haven't seen anybody around it.

I took a quick look at the exterior and the interior to see if there is any issue. It all looked good. I logged into my account, clicked 'Accept Delivery', updated my Tesla mobile app, simply unlocked the door and got in.

As I already made my payment and e-signed all paperwork before the delivery day, my Home Delivery experience was just perfect.

After I got used to the screen and all the controls, I started my Premium Connectivity, tried and absolutely enjoyed my EVSE 10-50 adapter (recommended by a Tesla owner here in this wonderful community) with the old dryer outlet in my garage for charging (35 miles per hour), bought a seat protector (Munchkin), installed the car seat for the little one, and got ready for the weekend!

Now, the only missing thing is the name of my Tesla, which seems to be difficult to come up with (despite the fact that I'm a branding specialist :D).

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding the process and home delivery.

Happy delivery, happy driving!

I know Tesla isn't known for their service, but my service advisor was honestly awesome. I usually order my Teslas online but went in store one time and met this awesome advisor. I was bummed about the sr+ timeline as my mom needed a car right away. He was able to match me with a car in 3 days... Picking it up in a week and can't be more excited. He mentioned if you order online you are part of their virtual team that is quite busy so I'm happy I got to work with him and the communication I was able to get with him. If anyone wants his info let me know and I can dm you.

Are any of you lucky people who have taken a Q4 delivery willing to take a pic of the USB ports behind/under the phone charger panel? I'm looking to buy a USB hub and have heard so many conflicting stories about what USB ports are there now? Would greatly appreciate it 👍

Are there even ports there? From what I can tell they moved the ports to be the 2 USB-C ports that are on the opposite side of the center console from the phone charging pad now (ports aren’t visible from the driver seat since the ports are now facing the front of the car inside the center console).

So is that where the phone charger plugs into? Seems like that would mean the charger cables would have to be longer (and put them in view)? This is why I'm after a photo, can't seem to find anything definitive on the web and it's Chinese whispers everywhere.

Yes that's where they are.

I took delivery of my 2022 red over white Model 3 Long Range yesterday, December 7. I am happy to report that there were NO problems whatsoever with the car. All panel gaps excellent, no dirt or scuff marks on upholstery or headliner, interior fit and finish excellent. Also, all USB ports in place and functional, as well as wireless charging. I hope I am not the exception to the rule as Tesla continues to improve its manufacturing processes.

Nice to see good delivery stories. Just curious but how do you know you have a 2022? I understand Tesla doesn't do model years so I assume the only way you could claim to have a 2022 is if the VIN number indicated a 2022 build date?

Can you confirm any of the new rumored changes? Namely lithium ion 12v battery, rear window laminated double paned glass, 5G modem, or AMD processer?

It sounds like these are changes made with Chinese-built models.
