Max speed rules?

I don't get why sometimes my MY imposes a max speed on cruise control at the speed limit.
Other times it let's me set it higher.

Traditionally cruise control is at the users discretion.
I find it's an annoyance trying to stay at the speed of traffic, since i have to press the gas pedal continuously.
Defeats the purpose of CC doesn't it?

The max limit is generally for autopilot/FSD on certain roads.

You can set the cruise control to whatever speed you like using the right scroll wheel.

It has a limit for autosteer on non-highways.

Yeah, pretty much. I'm not sure that there is any actual limit, but I have never hit one.

The is a 90 mph limit for Autopilot even if you are just using TACC.
