May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

I am gambling on them checking how many times you log into your Tesla account to see if anything has changed. The more you check.. the earlier you will get the car. Right? Right???? If that was the case I should have my car any minute now!
Does that mean mine has already been delivered? I don't remember.

I'd like to try and keep this thread on topic for May AWD/performance order checkins, so it is easy to follow.

It looks like no one in this thread has received a VIN, or any order/sales contact from Tesla yet. When the prices were reduced, I did receive an email from sales asking if I'd like to upgrade my May non-performance awd order to Performance.

thanks to @FlyNavy01 @jm.johnson @ryanjm @PessimiStick @Bokonon @thatguy142 and others for updating. please do update the thread if you do. According to the Model3VINs twitter, on June 28, Tesla registered ~2200 AWD VINs -- #54013 - 56240, so it should be coming soon!

I ordered a P on 5/20 at 7pm EST and it said 12-16 weeks until delivery. Unfortunately, when they lowered the price, I added FSD and my delivery time changed to Aug-Oct.

Additionally, I put $1k down for a 3rd reservation in March 2018 and was invited to order that P in late June. They both have delivery dates of Aug-Oct now. I'm afraid adding the FSD delayed my original order. Since it was just SW, I didn't think it would :(

They changed the 12-16 week estimation to "Aug - Oct" for everyone, I wouldn't read into that too much. If I had to guess, they are going to deliver P cars based on the date you paid the $2500, with no other considerations involved.

Recent tweet from Elon in response to asking about the P deliveries:

So we know that the "GA4" tent hasn't been making all Ps...

Depends on how you read it I think. They’ve made 100 P for test drive, they may have made more, but 100 are made for test drive. (Cue Mitch hedberg)

I’m not sure what way this was intended, but I don’t see it as saying that only 100 performance have been made

Looks like my delivery verbiage changed from:

"We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date."

to

"We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery timeframe will be based on reservation date, order date, delivery location and vehicle configuration."

This is in the same area that others are seeing "Aug-Oct" delivery dates, correct? I'm in the same boat as you...no actual dates listed. Unless I'm looking in the wrong area. Ordered AWD on 6/2

Not sure if anybody is having this issue, but my order agreement isn’t loading up anymore. Clicking on it brings me to a dead link. It was working previously before. Maybe they’re working on something on the backend?

On the other hand, they just registered 6,000 AWD VINs. :D

SAME!
OH MAN ... OH MAN...

Although I can still EDIT my order  so probably much ado about nothing

Looking for some help/input on my Model 3 order. Currently have a reservation for the Long Range Battery Model that I configured and made the $2,500 order payment on 4/18. With the reduced price for the AWD and Performance models I reached out to my delivery specialist to see if I could upgrade to the Performance model.

Was told on 6/27 that if I wanted the upgrade it would delay my delivery at least 3-6 weeks because I would receive a new VIN. He asked me to confirm and he could make those changes. Confirmed that I would like to proceed with getting the Performance Model and was very excited.

On Friday, my DS informed me that he had an update. In order for me to switch my order to the Performance AWD option it would require me to cancel my current order and lose my $3,500 deposit.

Called their assistance number (888) 51-TESLA and spoke to a rep and supervisor who stated the same thing, would have to lose the deposit and start over.

Would seem like it would be an easy decision for Tesla to give my vehicle to someone else (who I think would be happy to get their vehicle sooner) and pick up more cash from me buying the higher end Model 3.

Should I be reaching out to someone else or do I let this go and take delivery of my Long Range Model 3? Would love feedback from the group on your thoughts/suggestions!
I would keep calling up the ladder. If you have not been assigned a VIN yet it makes no sense for them not to change you up to a more expensive model. I could understand if you were downgrading your selection. HOWEVER, if you have already been assigned a VIN, then you are SOL. Because if you read the MVOA, the $3,500 was earned and non-refundable once a VIN was assigned. Before a VIN you can make changes for a fee of $500.
