[QUOTE = "Erik-S85, post: 5000517, member: 27151"] The only question is: what will the screens do in the long run? Is the UV treatment permanent or does it come back after x time and does the screen on an MCU2 also have yellow bands after 1.5 years? [/ QUOTE]
Be advised of warranty change. Think it through. Don't think of it logically, but do think of what the warranty change means.
The MCU1 with its screen follows the cars warranty until it was changed. If you replaced your MCU before 1 June 2020, your MCU warranty is 4 years no mileage limit. But Sometime about 14 June, Tesla quietly changed the MCU warranty to 2 years and 25,000 miles. Your receipt for when you replaced your MCU will be just about your only proof that you should be getting the benefit of the 4 year or only 2 year warranty.
So, let's think about this. If you opt to keep your screen with you replace MCU1 or upgrade to MCU2, your warranty is what? Its still 4 years with unlimited mileage. But if you pay more and accept the new/newer screen with your MCU1 replacement or MCU2 upgrade your warranty is NOW WHAT? Well we are well past 1 or 14 June when the warranty changed (quietly) so the new screen as well as the rest of the MCU is only 2 years or 25,000 miles/40,000 km.
