I put in the order for
I've been resisting every urge to call or email until I've let at least two weeks past since my order. My obsession has reached new heights since I pulled the trigger. Anyone else have strategies for coping? Or some interesting content to share for distraction?

I am with you on this, also really anxious to have the car before the end of the year for the full tax credit.

Day 1 online reservation owner, ordered on the 22nd so I got in before the price increase.

Mid range battery
Midnight Silver Metallic
PUP
Aero
Black Interior

If I can’t take delivery before 12/31 then I won’t accept or return within the three day window.

Waiting patiently for now to be contacted.

I asked about this during the test drive and was told that they would return the deposits. I have not done any research myself.

Having bought 2 Tesla’s before, I highly recommend for you not to trust anything OAs say. For the most part they are undertrained and incompetent. I stopped trusting them after one tried to tell me that ultra white interior in my first model X was real leather .

I was waiting for the SR, so I just got the basics. Also guys, I have a 8 year old daughter who still believes in Santa, but I'm pretty sure I'm the most excited for this holiday season!! :)

  • Mid Range Rear-Wheel Drive
  • Solid Black Paint
  • 18’’ Aero Wheels
  • All Black Premium Interior

If you REALLY want to impress your daughter, change your config to multi-coat red and white interior for ONLY $3500 extra and say "ho, ho, ho"!!!

Do you guys think if reserved now will we get cars delivered prior to 12/31 to get full tax credit?
I'd go for it if I were you, mainly because you live in CA so are in prime condition to receive a 12/31/18 11:59PM delivery at the factory as it rolls off the line. If you lived in Maine, I'd be a bit more thoughtful about counting on a 2018 delivery at this point.

Another reason to order now is that Elon was clear on the conference call yesterday that ordering for Europe is going to start soon, and we should expect the lion's share of production beginning 1/1 is going to be pointed at high-priced EU vehicles. Domestic MRs are not going to be a production priority on 1/1/19, making a comeback late in Q1 once it's not possible for Tesla to produce and ship and deliver Model 3s to Europe by 3/31. So if you want your MR anytime soon, IMO time is of the essence to get in the queue.

Tesla Model 3 Mid-Range battery pack energy capacity revealed, first units produced

A source familiar with Tesla’s production of the new Mid-Range battery pack told Electrek that it has a capacity of 62 kWh.

That’s the rated capacity in the vehicle system, like the 74 kWh of the Long Range pack. It can be listed differently depending on the situation.

The source also confirmed that Tesla produced the first half-dozen Model 3 vehicles with the new pack – presumably for testing ahead of the start of volume production.

Earlier today, Tesla also registered over 13,000 new Model 3 VINS and all of them were RWD, which is now only available with the new Mid-Range battery pack.

The automaker says that it is starting deliveries in “~6 to 10 weeks.”

I ordered Sunday Oct 21 and have scheduled delivery in Cleveland. It was within the 6-10 weeks cited but who knows. Keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

P.S. My reservation says the following (in case anyone else is curious):

"We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment."

"We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery time frame will be based on reservation date, order date, delivery location and vehicle configuration."

Where does it say we’re drafting up docs? I ordered 10/19 but more complex order:

MR, pearl white, black/white interior, EAP

I see a place to put in insurance but I need a VIN to do that. I’ve only been contacted by home charger specialist. But registration had a check mark. Already answered questions for payment method and trade in.

It is where the insurance info and other fields used to be, but only after they are completed. Ohio is one of the states where you don't need the VIN because proof of insurance on another vehicle is adequate (I think you have 24 hours or something to add it to your insurance when you buy a new car). That's how I completed it. It said this minutes after my order so I'm sure it is meaningless boiler plate text. It's just the placeholder text that now occupies that space for me.
