Ordered at 12am or so last night and they said expect it to be 1-3 months of waiting. Already spent 2 years waiting but I think this'll seem the longest to me. I'm in Ontario! In a small town called Sault Ste. Marie, 7 hours north of Toronto where my delivery will be.
Sault Ste Marie, what a beautiful town. I have very fond memory of that city when I was young.

Was flying a single engine aircraft and forced to land there because of weather, got help from commercial aircraft to guide us to there, was just a VFR pilot; the best accident I ever have, enjoy the hospitality there. :) 2 thumb up

Yep, definitely is a great place. Will be one of the very few who has a Model 3, hell even an EV. Will be 100% satisfied the day someone comes up to me in a parking lot as I'm filling up my Model 3 with groceries, and they just ask to sit in it or to talk about it. A new wave of transportation is coming and I'm glad to be a part of it!

It'll be a great drive up! Supercharge away!

As one that has driven a Leaf for a long time prepare for the questions to get repetitive and old. It’s the downside to having an EV, you’re in a hurry as buddy has twenty (dumb) questions. This happens often. lol.

I drove to Montreal last week and had the car at the super charger in Kingston. Went for a sandwitch and a couple was waiting to talk to me when I was back. They were excited to know the details.

Does it matter much if I specify I have a trade in or not? I did specify trade in because if they offer a decent price on my car (2017 Volt Premier) I'll do it to save the hassle. I figure there trade would be around 25-27k based off a tesla rep saying they typically offer the KBB value and/or about 5k less than the average price on Autotrader.

But I was thinking this morning, they may prioritize orders that are cash only so I may switch my preference until I get a vin assigned and post my car on auto trader to see how much hassle it will be to sell privately.

I realize this is mostly a gut feel question and there will be no definitive answer, but what do you guys think? Will specifying trade in + cash vs straight cash make a difference in the ultimate delivery date?

Tesla does NOT want to deal with trade ins, that’s why they lowball offers.
While I doubt it’ll make much, if any, difference I suspect that going straight cash and doing a private sale on your trade in would be Tesla’s preferred situation.

I was told in no uncertain terms by my Tesla rep that a trade in would slow the process and their offer would be quite low, she advised me to do a private sale.

Ok, thanks for the replies....I switched my preference to no trade in and cash. Plus listed it on Autotrader today. Now let's see how people take it when I say they can't buy it for 2 months+...

Today on the Tesla website, I was asked to verify again my Registration, Payment (incl taxes less rebate), DL, and Insurance. I was going with Belair insurance but BCAA is cheaper so I let them know that in the insurance section. A specialist is supposed to contact me withtin 48hrs to confirm. I'm hoping this means that deliveries will be sooner rather than later....

There is another thread that got started with this...consensus is that it is just a website update as many people had the same thing happen and its unlikely to mean anything...but I've still got my fingers crossed for early september delivery of my AWD :)

I ordered the Dk blue metallic AWD with aero for a price of $70,700. I live in BC and the website has my sales tax in at $10,815. This is more than 5% GST and 7% PST in BC ( or 15.3% rounded). Does anyone know what would make up the incremental difference from the 12% GST and PST??

Thanks in advance!
