No it won't. I checked this as well over phone with Tesla rep.

In USA on east coast. I was in despair because I didn’t have vin in nearly 4 weeks after order but vin came and delivery was less than a week later. They print date of manufacture on door panel and I didn’t get vin until 2 weeks after manufacture. BTW well worth the wait. Good luck

That's good to know, though I also want to get the trade-in estimate ahead of time to decide whether it’s worth taking the offer or selling my old car privately.

oh man....got my invite today....so confused as to ordering the car now...I don't need to the battery upgrade, but will do it if the incentive is there, otherwise would just order the SR version...maybe it's best to wait...received the invite on my birthday; is that a sign?

Go for the battery upgrade and get the rebate.

Seems like an easy decision to me. Plus.. resale will be MUCH better on the long range model
