Just lifted hold last night and redid credit app update...New EDD: 5/17 - 06/14. Ordered 11/15, put on hold 12/11 after releasing vin..guess I should've lifted hold sooner..:/
The same thing happened to me right after my hold expired. I was on "TBD" for1 day, updated to a way pushed out range the next day, and on the 3rd day the range moved much closer and I receive a VIN! Hoping the same for you. That first EDD that was months away was not fun!

Yea I hope that's the case for me. my uncle had the same issue on his MYP when he released the hold. I hope the date doesn't stay pushed back due to the credit app process..

Keeping my fingers crossed that the same happens to me. Lifted the hold today and it is now showing as TBD. The last time I released my hold I got a lower VIN though and it again did not have the upgrades. Let's see what happens this time.

Quick update from my end:

My current hold was to end on Feb 10 but I did end it today by clicking on "I'm Ready"

Full details as below:

Original Configuration: M3LR White/Black 18" Aero
OD: Oct 23
EDD #1: Nov 21 - Dec 23
Held order until Jan 1
EDD #2: March 11 - March 31
EDD #3: Jan 21 - Feb 4
VIN (158xxx) assigned (Jan 16)
VIN rejected (Jan 18)
Changed Configuration to MSM/Black 18" Aero (Jan 18)
EDD #4: Feb 1 - Feb 5
VIN (156xxx) assigned (Jan 21)
VIN rejected (Jan 23)
Held order until Feb 5
EDD #5: TBD

Very interesting, I released my hold about one hour ago and just 30 minutes later I got a message that my VIN (170xxx) was assigned !!!

I am speculating that it was already pre-assigned during my hold waiting for me to release my hold by Feb 10 and that it was about to be assigned to someone else if I had not released the hold at all.

My full details are now as follows:

Original Configuration: M3LR White/Black 18" Aero
OD: Oct 23
EDD #1: Nov 21 - Dec 23
Held order until Jan 1
EDD #2: March 11 - March 31
EDD #3: Jan 21 - Feb 4
VIN (158xxx) assigned (Jan 16)
VIN rejected (Jan 18)
Changed Configuration to M3LR MSM/Black 18" Aero (Jan 18)
EDD #4: Feb 1 - Feb 5
VIN (156xxx) assigned (Jan 21)
VIN rejected (Jan 23)
Held order until Feb 5
VIN (170xxx) assigned (Feb 5)
EDD #5: Feb 22 - Feb 25

Awesome! I have the same OD as you a bit further South of the East coast and with a Black exterior but this gives me hope that my EDD will move soon in the right direction. Hasn't moved from 2/12-3/12 in a couple weeks.
yes, hopefully you’ll see movement soon. I also got the TradeIn text this afternoon so that’s even more promising. My VIN should be coming shortly given what I’ve read on these forums.

2/05/22: Picked up the car.

Vin 161###, it's got Ryzen. no idea about 12V, it's too cold outside for me to do further investigation.

Car drives awesome, as expected, the premium sound is much better than my SR+, acceleration is CRAZY, from 5.3s SR+ to 4.2s, I expected my head getting slammed to the seat, but man, still can't get used to it.

One note here, there are FAR MORE Model Ys than Model 3s. So yea, these pesky model Y owners are the reason we have to wait this long :).

Hopefully with Austin Gigafactory up and running, wait time would shrink significantly.

Woke up today to a Vision Agreement notification on my account. Then I got a text (before I accepted Vision Agreement) from the mysterious tesla account (ie i guess my SA?) telling me "the car is built and on the way. Would I be able to take delivery on saturday the 19th of feb".
Sure, why not. I wanted it later (after the snow is mostly gone maybe mid March) but I'm now more worried about the pending interest rate increase.
So from my 8th EDD range of Feb 13-27, I'm now looking at a booked date of Feb 27.
With all the fluctuations in EDD, it said February when I placed my order, and I'm getting it late February.

Where are my other Toronto area M3 order holders at? We should all be getting these notices soon if you ordered in the last 2 or 3 months i would guess.
Makes me hopeful, but just like you I'm also worried about a late March snowstorm.
Oh, and the VIN is 169xxx according to the source code. Not officially sent to me yet.

It will most likely update soon, and you might actually get a VIN pretty soon. What is your configuration?
Thats right. The pattern we've seen is that your place in line is based on your OD. Lifting your hold initially plopped you at the back of the line, but as T4M3 notes, that will likely update right away. Give it a couple of days and don't be surprised if your EDD is updated very soon.

Of course, this is based on past history. The "rules" could change at a moment's notice, but I'd bet good money you'll have a VIN and a car very soon.

I've been reading this religiously since the day after my order and some of the posts help me feel hopeful that I'll see my car this month, while others make me feel like I won't see my car until the end of March. Quite the emotional roller coaster I must say. I though I would give you guys my order information and hope it helps someone feel hopeful.

OD: 2/14 M3LR White on White with 18" Aero
Since the day I ordered EDD of 2/16-3/16 no changes, no contact from anyone at Tesla.
I live in Central California and used to think that would help but since reading I've started to feel like it actually works against me.
