I noticed my exact model is In Inventory now in my area. Is it worth calling my SA to try and get matched with one of the inventory vehicles?
So far as I know, you have 2 options:

1. Try to get in touch with your SA and have them match you to that VIN.

2. Place the order to secure the car, then call your SA and have them merge the orders together.

1 is the safest bet to avoid paying a second $100 order fee, but you run the risk of someone beating you to securing the car (depending on how responsive your SA is).

Eh not really how it was handled. They apologized and were understanding. I’ve since heard from the operations manager at the service center. Believe me - this is definitely not how I envisioned my day going, and I’m disappointed that I was even presented the car with these issues, but I’m confident they’ll do everything in their control to ensure the next one is perfect.
I know, I’m just joshing around. I think half of us have had pleasant experiences and some of us have had lousy experiences. I’m at the latter.

There hasn’t been one, that’s the problem. I placed my order on the 11th and I’ve only received a single text since on the 19th. While, many people around here have been in contact and been given update. I’m the one that has had to call and ask what is going on.
Well good luck. I had pretty solid communication throughout the order process but obviously did me no good in the end. Hope yours has a happier ending!

WOW Lucky!!

I ordered the MSM with Black interior and 18 Aeros as on 8/5 but in Seattle. Congrats on the super quick turnaround on your order. Maybe this is a sign that the Midnight Silver SR+s are going to be scheduling deliveries soon. I don't know if they produce the cars in batches, I would assume so. If thats the case my fingers are crossed hoping I will have a delivery text soon.

Ordered the same car on June 20th in Washington as well, and still in the same boat lol. Just telling myself it's gonna happen soon just gotta be so patient.

Short story::: Has anyone had this experience? Delivery date change despite no changes on my end, loan has been funded, insurance is in tact.

Detailed story:::

Tuesday 9/1: text to schedule delivery appointment; selected Monday 9/15 at 10:00am.

Wednesday 9/9: text received your car is scheduled to arrive early, would you like to move up your date? I texted back yes and waited ......

Thursday 9/10: text received- we’ll reach out to let you know when your car is here

Friday 9/11: Tesla text update “get ready to meet your M3” ... 6:15pm I called the SC in Cleveland and was told the the car was in Chicago and waiting to be loaded for transport to Cleveland.

Today, Sunday 9/13; I hear nothing, so I call again (as my SA is MIA and doesn’t return email/voicemails)) and told the car is still in route and is set to arrive on Monday 9/14. “ To be safe move your pick up date/time” ... rescheduled for Tuesday 9/15 at 5:00pm.

Is this typical? How could I select a pick up time at the same time/day the car was set to arrive? Would it matter if I complain? I feel like my frustration is justified, but will fall on deaf ears.

BTW: found my exact model for sale, on the Tesla site to the general public, in Washington DC, Atlanta, and Indiana. Why sell to the general public first? It’s like a “walk-in” gets the table you’ve had a reservation in place for weeks, and your at the hostess stand at the same time. I can see one customer cancel their order, but 3? Seems odd ... but this whole experience has been totally unexpected.

Good news, my Tesla Model 3 LR Midnight silver metallic has been scheduled for delivery for September 25th. Ordered on the 14th of August and got vin/mvpa last Sunday on the 6th. Paid in cash. First time buyer of a Tesla and I’m ready for the future, but really the present. My guess is since the production for the Model 3 is mostly perfected, minus some things that the car should be in order. Very exciting! Hope everyone else gets their cars too before the end of September to make it in time! My power rate is .04 cents a kilowatt as well so the gas savings is immense! I live in upstate NY, picking up the car at mt Kisco.

Exactly why there is a whole thread with people a bit miffed about the delivery customer service!

I called just yesterday and was told that those configs in inventory because they’re being produced but the cars are NOT on the lots. If you see one with real mileage, then yes those exist.

I’ll have to find that thread - I’ve been reviewing this one and SR+; thank you for pointing it out.

Patience will pay off I guess.

Ordered a LR AWD on 9/10( No VIN has been assigned yet) but with rumored enhancements coming can I request to postpone delivery to next quarter in hopes of new features or do I have to cancel ( lose out on my $100 bucks) and re submit a new order for a Performance ? My understanding is if you cancel same trim cannot be re ordered for a year?

You can place the order on hold. No problem.
By the way, the same trim policy only applies when returning the vehicle after taking delivery.

I picked up my Model 3 LR AWD MSM yesterday and the process was seamless. I only noted 2 small issues. 1. One small spec on the paint that looked like it was under the clearcoat, but it turns out it wasnt. They removed the spec and re-cleaned and shined the area. 2. The glass over the driver and passenger seat had this black looking hard stuff on all 4 corners on the top of the glass. They said it was probably a glue or adhesive and were able to get it removed and re-cleaned before I finished the delivery process. Everything else looked pristine which was a nice surprise given the fear I had in reading other peoples delivery experiences. Thanks to everyone for providing such useful information here.

Does anyone know the significance of the ETA text disappearing above the “We will reach out to you” statement?

I know some users have experienced this and it just happened to me logging in this morning.

I know some users have experienced this and it just happened to me logging in this morning.

It happened to me over the weekend (I think...or at least there was a big delay before it populated back to the "3-5 week from order date") then I got the estimated delivery date of 9/4-9/18 (today is 9/14 LOL)....but the only reason I checked my account was because the app had the spinning loading circle for an eternity this morning before loading. I thought that was suspicious...

This is all anecdotal and may be nothing but rubbish so I wouldn't read into it very much. Going to contact my delivery specialist to make sense of the estimate above. I'm in Texas so would need to finalize payment, get insurance, and receive an MVPA so not sure if that's all gonna be done within that window unless they act quick. *shrug*
