The link you posted from Mashable was a fourth hand copy from someone who read about another article that mentioned the Model 3 only being pictures.
Not one of them referenced the actual video where you can hear what was said in context.
If the question from the reporter was "When will we see video of the Model 3" would be all be asking if the reveal was only going to be video?
Of course not because the two parts go together - the question and the connected answer.
All this came up because some reporter heard the answer in isolation, filled in the blanks and got 2+2 = -44
