What % did you got front and rear (assuming roof is same as rear)?

It looks good!!

Been to Tesla today and asked about the tints and they said they would need to be removed before returning the car. How hard is it do this or would it be better getting something less permanent like a film? Can’t imagine they would look as good though

I am collecting my M3 White SR+ Friday, and one of the first things i want to do is get the window tinted.

Just wondering if anyone has done this yet on white M3 and what shade / % you went for any pics?

also can anyone recommend any installers in the Essex area?

p.s sorry if this has been discussed on the uk forum before but i couldn't find anything?
Hey, did you manage to find anywhere that did the tinting in Essex?

Yes I used
I used Our Office Contact Details - Ipswich Branch

Did try another place in billericay but he didnt want to touch the rear screen (only tried another for ease as was closer), so went back to the guys in Ipswich, I had my 5 series done with them a few years back and they were really good and I think from memory they still offer accedental damage cover 1 per year, and I used it with some scratches on the 5 series no quibbles.

I think I was the 3or4th me they done which was about 1 or ago now so would imagine they done plenty more now.

I paid £300 for all sides including front sides and full rear screen..

The rear screen is large and runs from just behind the b pillar back down to the boot lid. The top section is factory tinted but is graduated to clear. I got all this tinted. I did not tint the front seats roof window which is already tinted.

See attached image and you cant tell any difference (sorry just started raining)

Inside the front roof window and back screen are separated at the joint with some internal trim.

The tints look great! How long did it take? Can they do it on the same day? I’m not local so will need to drive up from Hertfordshire.

Anyone tinting be wary of getting any level of tint applied to front passenger windows or windscreen. Given the windows come with a degree of tinting already applied even a further low level of tint is likely to make them illegal, which may or may not have insurance ramifications in the event of an accident never mind potential fine or such like…

I'm now adding to this thread as I've just been told by my 'usual' tint guy that he cannot do the complete roof/rear screen with a single piece of film and I'm not having the halfway tint look staring at me every time I look in the rear mirror 😆so that's him blown out :(

Obviously RSymons does tinting, but having watched his video, he eludes to potential issues with front windows and the legalities......personally however (and no offence to anyone who hasn't) but I don't think the car (any car) looks finished without a light smoke (min) on the fronts. Historically and we are talking 10-12 cars in the past 20 years, I've had it darker but for the Tesla, light smoke will be adequate.

I'm in Winchester, Hampshire so RS would be reasonably close - any others recommended in the Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey areas?
