Confirmed 5/24, delivery tentatively scheduled for 9/4. Still showing "sourcing parts" on the dashboard. Got my final paperwork and paid the down payment last week.

Delivery specialist indicated that the car is scheduled to wrap production next week (which, if it only takes ~2 days to build, means it's going to both start and finish production next week).

Ordered 8/1 after a test drive confirmed that there's little I am giving up in moving from a 911 Turbo to a P85+. Order confirmed the next day (8/2). Delivery on My. Tesla said late October. On Tuesday 8/5 delivery moved out to late November. A week later the delivery date moved up, first to late October and now to October :). Looking forward to a steel grey P 85+ with all of the options except the rear seats and cold weather. Does delivery status "October" mean sometime in the first two weeks of the month?

EXTURBO - I ordered 24 hours after you, but confirmed on 8/2 as well. You may recall that 8/2 is when the web site jumped from Late Oct to December for new orders - overnight! My expected delivery went to late November, then to late October, then to October - just like yours. My DS emailed yesterday saying that my estimated pick up date would be 10/22 (in Tennessee). Thus, October for me means three weeks into October.

bigdomer - thanks for the clarification on "October" and delivery October 22 or thereabouts would be fantastic! I am in the Bay Area and plan to pick up the car at the factory (with a tour). Maybe that could help shave off a couple of days :) I have been introduced by email to my DS but haven't heard back on a delivery date so you are ahead there!

Like you, looking forward to the new steel grey color - should help provide a modicum of uniqueness in the Bay Area where the model Ss seem to be literally everywhere.

Tesla charger is finally installed. The 13th cannot come soon enough!

FYI to folks expecting delivery around late August to early Sept:

I talked to my delivery specialist just now, and he mentioned that the factory has been "somewhat slow" after the production lines started back up recently. He said the first build week ended up about 1.5 weeks behind on delivery, and the second build week ended up about a week behind schedule. So they're catching up and it won't be an issue much longer, but it could result in slight delays (~1 week or so) for some delivery dates around that time.

I'm tentatively slated for Sept 4 delivery, and he said right now he doesn't expect that to change, but reading between the lines, it sounded like I may be waiting an extra week or so in a worst-case scenario. Just a heads up to those of you in a similar boat.

Heard a very similar story from my DS today.

Thanks for the details, this seems odd though. I only say that because someone else had posted that things seemed to be moving pretty fast after the shutdown. I wonder if he means that after the two week shutdown when they finished the first week of production they were 1.5 weeks behind and then after the second week they were only 1 week behind. Consider this, pre-shutdown they were running at 800 a week. If (and that's a strong if) they started back at full speed running 1k a week (which is their current target) it would take 4 weeks to clear that 2 week backlog caused by the shutdown. I discount one week of the shutdown since they do that every quarter anyway (if I am not mistaken) so it was only one week extra being closed. So they have an extra 800 cars to push through that they wouldn't have otherwise had.

Or...

I could just be reading into this wrong and instead they didn't bring the line online at the speed they had expected and it has caused them to be backlogged worse than anticipated. In which case deliveries expected next week and this week should see some push back, (or have already seen). tough to say without someone chiming in who was expecting a delivery *soon*

Thanks for the information all the same!

I'm expecting an end of September delivery, 24th right now, and I'm not sweating it yet. I think Tesla has every intention of meeting its quarterly targets even if some deliveries are delayed a bit. My biggest concern is that Tesla will be slapping the cars together at the end. I hope fit and finish quality don't suffer.

The website says "September" and my DS originally said week of 9/22. Now Monday, I asked and he said he was expecting between 9/19 and 9/23. This was by email, not phone, and he didn't give any more information than that. He kind of gave the impression that there wouldn't be more information until the car was done with production. It sounds like either other DS's have/get more information than mine, or there's a breakdown in communication for my guy, or production rumors are being passed on to customers that mine isn't.

So one thing I will point out is that "inside information" from the Service Centers and the Delivery Specialists don't always mean they are correct. They get a pretty skewed view of how things are happening outside of your specific details. This isn't to say that these guys are wrong, just that if someone has information that another doesn't it is not uncommon. You will also find that sometimes one will get it wrong over another.

I have seen this happen with people getting different issues fixed and such on their cars as well.

Your delivery is late enough that it very likely isn't affected by this reported issue. Hope that helps :)

My delivery was also delayed by up to 2 weeks. Originally scheduled for 8/29, moved back two weeks though it may come sooner. DS said that getting all the new lines back online is taking a week or so longer than expected.

I'm in MA, confirmed 5/24, but when I got my date back in July it was already out to 12th of September, so my DS may have been prescient in building in that buffer to my delivery date.

My DS specifically mentioned that he has access to more information than what I can see on my dashboard. I think that's why he was more than willing to set a delivery date and time with me. He did caveat that it could change. However, given the number of deliveries that the service center is making in September, even if the car comes earlier, it may not be ready until the appointed date and time.

Just spoke with my DS. He said my delivery, scheduled for Sept 5, "might be delayed". He had no additional information, wasn't definite, was waiting to hear more from the factory, and said he'd get back to me when he had an update. On the plus side, since I'm turning a lease based on the delivery day, he did say they would rent me a car if I were to be without. Anybody else being told about potential delays?

Yeah JThompson was saying we have 90 deliveries scheduled for Sept out of our SC... That is an average of 3 a day... That is pretty good I would think.
