Whelp got this email back from my sales guy:

The good news, I am still "on track" I assume that means for a late march delivery... the bad news, I still don't have a VIN... Maybe they just missed me in the website updating process? I guess I will continue hitting the refresh button multiple times a day :p

The website progress update doesn't seem to always be the best for tracking. Check my post a few up. In the same day: my car went in to production, finished production, finished testing, and was being finalized for delivery. I saw all of those changes happen a few hours apart from each other. Clearly, there's no way that all happened in 12 hours. Hang in there.

Have a delivery date and time set for Feb 25. Emailed Tesla for update on delivery date. Received the following email back:

"Thank you for checking-in. Right now we are seeing some delays on all cars, however, I’m waiting for the numbers to settle before giving you a solid date. It’s possible we might need to push things back a week. I’m hoping to know by this coming Friday and I’ll be letting everyone I’m working with in Texas know."

Some delay on all cars doesn't seem to mesh with the results on this thread. Hoping this is more expectation management than anything.

I know, I am trying, but I just wanted to have a little taste of progress haha! I am like a drug addict... I just need a little bit of coke to keep me going :p You would think though, since I have been waiting since 2008 for this that I wouldn't care about a couple months time... but it is totally killing me. Ugh. The wait!

Maybe me means their Texas deliveries got delayed? Are they trying to get through any of those mountains where all the snow just happened to get to you? Might be why there was a delay? Because that seems to be holding a lot of people up since their trucks have to go through all this horrible weather we have been having. As an investor I just hope this doesn't kill their Q1 numbers too much.

It meshes with the message I was given. I was looking for Feb 21 delivery in Calgary and he is suggesting that this might move back a week; however, still hasn't given me a solid date and my dashboard still says Feb 21.

I was just curious if that's how long it takes to get a car now (with European and Asian production ramping up, some delays are expected) or if he purposely delayed his car. Hoping its the latter, since I want my car for April.

So based on my very limited experience of the process flow right now. It almost seems like they do the orders and batches in chunks. So depending on the time of month that you order as to which chuck of the line you get thrown to. The Performance cars are getting about 2 months average, and the regular cars are getting about a 3 month average sometimes extending into the 4th month but I don't see it being normal to go a full 4 months. This is all assuming you order here in America (and maybe Canada?).

And you set a preference for February delivery, right? There isn't a 3-month wait?

Well I've made mine a bit complicated. Originally I set a preference for April (back in November) which was clearly not the earliest date; however, on December 11th I decided to move it up to the earliest possible date (thanks to drinking too much Koolaid on this forum) and I confirmed on the same day. Unfortunately the earliest possible date I was allowed to select was February (it only allowed me to pick a month). I guess that means that if I get it in late February, the time from confirmation would be about 2 1/2 months. It seems possible that it might slip into March which would be approaching 3 months.

Well the day finally came and it was so worth the wait (not saying the wait was easy). The delivery specialist (Andrew) kept me posted all day Saturday on the progress of my car through the snow storm. He then braved the roads to trek down to Villa Park and make sure the car was ready for delivery Saturday night. The handoff occurred about 6 PM on Saturday and I'm not sure that the car has been out of my sight since then! The car looks great (although it is trashed due to the Chicago weather), runs better than great, and is turning heads where ever I drive.

All of you guys/gals - keep the faith. I don't want to be one of those people that just says "suck it up, I had to wait even longer" - but when the day comes for you, you'll be over the top happy.

Congrats @JJR64...pls post photos when you have the Chicago grime cleaned off her! I have 8 more days before my scheduled pickup and I'm counting the minutes (11,520, in case you were wondering)!

Congrats man! Now your only waiting is between times driving it :) Always going to be looking for another excuse to drive it! If you need a good road trip excuse there is that D.C. Event coming up, you could still make it!

My dashboard just flipped to production complete! It seems more real now that I have a physical tesla out there somewhere, not just a promise to build me one eventually. I can't believe we'll have to be apart for 2 more weeks.

Does anybody know what I'll need to do with the purchase agreement? Do I sign it and send it in? Or is it just for my purposes?

Awesome! Congrats.
Mine has been showing 'sourcing parts' for so long now I've started to despair that it will ever start building. My DS has been very quiet lately too. Think I'm going to have to concentrate on work for a while and stop refreshing my dashboard.
