Have a delivery date and time set for Feb 25. Emailed Tesla for update on delivery date. Received the following email back:

"Thank you for checking-in. Right now we are seeing some delays on all cars, however, I’m waiting for the numbers to settle before giving you a solid date. It’s possible we might need to push things back a week. I’m hoping to know by this coming Friday and I’ll be letting everyone I’m working with in Texas know."

Some delay on all cars doesn't seem to mesh with the results on this thread. Hoping this is more expectation management than anything.

Well, received the official word today from Tesla:

"New projected dates have been received by my team from production and it does look like there is a delay on cars for North America.

The new ready date for pick-up in Dallas is being projected for March 8th, which is a Saturday.

Please let me know if this causes any scheduling conflicts as we can always push back this date if there is travel for spring break.

I do apologize for setting expectations up for a late-February delivery and I will keep in-touch throughout the rest of the process."

Well the day finally came and it was so worth the wait (not saying the wait was easy). The delivery specialist (Andrew) kept me posted all day Saturday on the progress of my car through the snow storm. He then braved the roads to trek down to Villa Park and make sure the car was ready for delivery Saturday night. The handoff occurred about 6 PM on Saturday and I'm not sure that the car has been out of my sight since then! The car looks great (although it is trashed due to the Chicago weather), runs better than great, and is turning heads where ever I drive.

All of you guys/gals - keep the faith. I don't want to be one of those people that just says "suck it up, I had to wait even longer" - but when the day comes for you, you'll be over the top happy.

Wow! It sounds like they really made the extra effort despite the obstacles!

I am willing to bet it was all the snow that messed them up. Probably screwed up some of their supply lines and some of their shipping lines. Just a guess of course.

Course this likely means mine is going to be pushed back in the end too. So I shouldn't even expect a March delivery at this point... :(
Here is hoping for the first week of April!

Uggh...mine doesn't show "in transit" yet to Marietta, GA, but I also haven't gotten any word from my DS about possible delays to my 11-Feb scheduled pick-up. I was told by someone in the service center (whom I ordered all weather floor mats from) that the transportation time from factory to Marietta, GA, would be 3-5 days, depending on which truck does it (one truck has 2 drivers, so fewer or no rest stops are required). Assuming they drive over weekends, if I don't see my car's status message change to "in transit" by end of day tomorrow, I'll reach out to my DS to see if he has an updated on my pick-up date. It isn't totally clear to me whether the NA delays are production driven or transportation driven, but wouldn't be a surprise if transportation was the issue, due to recent crummy weather.

I hope for your sake it doesn't affect your order. I was just trying to plan for the worst in my case, since my date is so far out at this point.

Updated google doc w/ new pick-up date for @Wildcat and published latest copy inline on first post.

Groan. My DS called earlier today to let me know my P85+ delivery has been pushed a week from Feb 11 to Feb 19 ( was originally Feb 5!). I'm getting, uh, restless.

I see this as good news and bad news for the rest of us patiently waiting!

First the bad news - if @GregH is pushed back, and he's in San Fran, I have to believe the current delays are more around production than around transportation/weather (which means everyone may be affected by this pattern of delays, not just the folks cross country or with further out delivery dates).

The good news - it would seem this forum may help with providing early warning to the rest of us (especially those closest to pick-up dates), that we may face troubles, so it won't come as a complete surprise, and everyone down the line can adjust expectations accordingly. For example, my DS hasn't contacted me yet, and I have an 11-Feb delivery, but based on recent posts (and my knowledge of shipping times to Atlanta), I'm pretty sure I will hear from my DS in the next couple days informing me of a delay on my car, too. OK, that's not really good news, but at least I feel I'm less in the dark and my misery has company. And, if for some reason my car is immune from the possibly global "slight" delays, I'll be pleasantly surprised (and will probably be the most hated member of this forum, at least until everyone else gets their car).

We'll see.....

I'm sorry to hear that you may delayed too. It was so painful to be so close and then have the date pushed back. Definitely keep in touch with you DS and make sure he/she keeps on top of things. I don't know if this makes the process go any more smoothly, but I think it's the only way that you'll really know what exactly is happening.

Here in Chicago we got hit with about 4" - 6" of snow last night, so today was my first time driving it in really poor road conditions. Other than the typical slipping when getting moving at stop lights the car handled like a dream. I've got the all season 19" tires and based on the way they handled today, I don't see that I will need to get snow tires (which I've never needed in 35 years of Chicago winter driving till now).

Yeah, that is the expectation I am trying to set for myself, Midlife. I won't be surprised to see mine delayed, but I am still hoping for on time scheduling :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks! I need all the finger crossing I can get :)

I am glad the car seems to be performing just as expected, and you are getting some really good handling in the snow! Have you hit anything that feels like in any other car you would have had more/less trouble? Have you ever driven an AWD vehicle, and if so how would you compare to that?

I know I only hear good things about the winter driving of the cars, but it never hurts to add in one more opinion :)

List is now splitted in delivery Q1 and Q2.

Might want to see if a Mod will change the thread title then haha!

I emailed back and forth with my DS today, and he confirmed my car was in transit, despite what the website status reflects, and it should reach the service center by Friday or Saturday, so I am on track for Tuesday morning pickup, with a slight chance of Monday afternoon. I may have filled the tank of my gas-guzzling Prius for the last time today. I received my blue Tesla hat in the mail today (part of my "What can i buy for my Tesla to pass the time waiting for my Tesla" shopping spree) and wore it on my drive home and while filling up my last gas tank.

it would appear delays are not system wide, as I feared. Here's to hoping the snow stays away and someone else on this thread sees an on time or ahead of schedule delivery soon!

i am really tempted to get a jacket just because... But then I would totally feel like an obsessed fan haha! Thankfully my time biding is being filled with worrying over the stock prices and trying to plan things out so I maximize my profits when I dump out of the market. Maybe when it gets into March I will break down and buy a jacket haha!
