Model S Order & Delivery Tracker - Q1 2014

Going by VINs is tough. I'm around 35k and won't see my car for nearly a month.

If it helps I haven't gotten mine yet either. But we were also in the 28k range at the beginning of Jan, I was merely suggesting that it feels safe to suggest that they produced AT LEAST their target of 7,400. I try not to read the VIN tea leaves too much because it is a tough game to try to play.

May I offer a suggestion for the spreadsheet? A column that displays the number of days between the major milestones would be quite useful. All we need to do is insert columns for:
"days from confirmation to production start"
"days in production"
"days from production complete to delivery"

although shorter column names would certainly be preferred.

I checked and google sheets does implement the "days360" function, which would make this pretty easy.

Would whoever owns the google sheet be willing to implement this? Or, if there's a way to allow permissions I'll happily do it.

How is their detailer? I have yet to hear on either side how good or bad Rockville is.
The car was detailed very well. None of the paint issues I've seen posted previously. There was a small area on the headliner that needed to be cleaned and some "fraying" of the headliner at the pano roof which was trimmed. While it was parked, it picked up some bird droppings. Interior was otherwise perfect. Whole process took 35 minutes. Wife will drive it today but then a garage queen to ride out this crazy weather for the next day or so. Opticoat on Thursday then it will assume its place as the family car/daily driver.

I picked up the car last Thursday. Took a few pictures and tried out a couple superchargers.

Pickup tomorrow! I'm ready. Slightly disappointing is that it's been sunny and the mid to upper 70s for the last couple of weeks, and it's going to start raining tomorrow for a week straight. We need the rain badly here, so I am glad it's coming. Just sort of wish I'd had my delivery moved to today instead. It won't be as fun taking delivery on a rainy day.

In anticipation of the good news, I've updated your delivery status already on the main tracker! Hopefully that didn't jinx anything!

@KaJu74 - I like this proposal (but don't have the juice/permissions to make the change).

I would suggest some abbreviated naming and to base the initial and final days on order date versus confirmation, because my observations show the VIN ordering is more tied to order date than confirmation date (though, unfortunately, we only have confirmation date from some of our subscribers). Here is what I would suggest (with columns all put after "Delivered On" but before "Current Status"

Insert row above top summarizing these 3 columns, and call it "Total Days"
> Order to Prod Start
> In Production
> Production to Delivery
> Order to Delivery

Open to further debate on this, and I will likely throw those columns into my Excel export the next time I run stats, but agree those, or similar, standing columns, will provide more visible total day stats to everyone.

Updated...pls confirm once you get the car, too!

Tesla called this afternoon and wanted to know if I could pick up my car on Tuesday, four days early. I of course said yes. DS said the truck would arrive in South Florida on Monday.

Some "total days" statistics

OK, in an exported copy of the master spreadsheet, I added some "total days" columns, but our data is tremendously dirty, with lots of blanks for a lot of folks. In order to make this table more useful, I filtered on US orders only, filtered out anyone who didn't select the earliest order date, and only those who have indicated their status is delivered.

Because there were so many holes in the data, I didn't run an average, but you can paste the below table into your own spreadsheets and run averages which exclude all the "??" or "NA" values.

Y'know, it's too bad you can't enable the smartphone app and link to your car as soon as it is complete from the factory. Imagine the hours of entertainment watching the little GPS marker move closer and closer.... "hey, it's been stopped for 65 minutes! What's that truck driver doing, taking a lunch AND a coffee break!!???" :)
That's exactly what I did. Because I took delivery of the car in Vancouver, they enabled my app access and I was able to track the journey from Vancouver to Calgary. Each time I woke up during the night I was able to connect to the car to see where it was. Occasionally it lost connection and showed an old location leaving me wondering if it was going to be late, but overall it was awesome being able to track it and the driver. This link was to my original post. Model S Delivery Update - Page 638

Hello

I was long time not here. Sorry for that.

I changed the file for the days function.

I prefer the two dates from each other, and then increase the result by 1

Is that okay?

The calculations are made automatically when data is entered.

So the year is important!

But please fill in the "empty" field no longer a question mark.

Who are you having put it on your car, or are you doing this yourself?
