FAQ: Home Tesla charging infrastructure Q&A
@16fragar At a minimum, I would manually set the amperage on the large screen in vehicle charging screen to 20amps. Remember that every time you reset your car, the amps reset to 32. So, check the setting every time you plug in.I would refrain charging on that until you get proper setup

Good point.Although that may work his setup may be damaged ..wire ..outlet ..best is play safe and rewire![]()
Wait so i don’t lower to 20 amps?@16fragar Last thought. You may want to plug into a 110 outlet until you address the 240v setup. You will change the adapter on the mobile charger. You will only get 6 miles per hour, but, it is better than burning the place down.
Good point.
The risk is you may have damaged the outlet, wiring, or breaker with you pulling amps over the stated ratings. You should fix as soon as possible or at least have an electrician verify there was no damage until you can fix 240v circuit. I was only stating above that your other option is to switch to a 110v outlet and mobile adapter. You know that that circuit is good and will not pose a risk.I have it on 20 right now
Yes maybe i should keep it plugged in lolElon Musk did say a plugged in Tesla is a happy Tesla. I woud keep it plugged in even if you don't need to due to battery management system. The garage could get pretty hot.
