My new model S lighted door sills

    I just finished my project of putting in lighted sills in my model s. The original aluminum ones were scratched and were starting to look bad after a year of use. The new ones are stainless and coated so should hold up much better.

    I wired them to the lights in the foot wells so they go on when opening the door, then go off after 15 seconds or so.

    to have the sills made to my specification cost me $200 complete. It took me about 2 hours to install them. very simple installation. They go over the current sills with 3m tape. The majority of the time is to hook up the power to the existing footwell lights.
