Well, so much for "February/March" delivery, just received "the" phone call today, my Dolphin Grey 85KW Model S is "on the truck headed for the east coast".. I take that with a grain of salt, since I haven't been asked to send in the final payment yet. I do have the VIN now, ends in "03245". Never expected to get the car THIS soon.

Nice! if i had to do it all over again i'd probably go for the dolphin grey. pretty sharp looking in pics. would love to see it when it arrives.

Mitch -- exciting news about your car! I would love to see the gray; I'm already specing out my next Model S so that my wife can drive her own...

Put the product specialist and my insurance agent together for now. BTW, they are still not taking trade-ins in MA :(
Really? My DS, Andrew Clarke, told me exactly the opposite when I was in the Watertown service center last week. Hmm.

My car was finally delivered today!!!!!

45 miles on the odometer, 98 miles of charge (but half the battery?)

Going to Watertown to the RMV tomorrow and to pick up my snow tires.
The car is getting paint armor applied (for the next two days).

Missing the parcel shelf thingy.

One thing, I never verified the VIN!

PS: Very professional driver on the truck. He had to move a Maserati to get my car off the truck.
There were 3 others on the truck, one to Boston, on to Watertown and one to NH I think.
Black, white and black or blue...

PS: Can the mods flip the images?

Really? My DS, Andrew Clarke, told me exactly the opposite when I was in the Watertown service center last week. Hmm.

She did say they use "AutoNation" and they typically give lowball offers anyway. I called my Toyota dealer, they are offering in the $28K range, for my $40K 2012 Advanced PiP, it has 10,500 miles on it, more than $1/mile :( The Edmunds site has it listed for $33K or so, but its a tough market, Toyota is giving $5K off MSRP to start right now ($35K for a new 2013 with no miles on it), so the dealers offer is probably close. If I had the same or similar offer from Tesla, I would prefer that to save the %6.25 MA Sales tax on the $28K for the trade, that's another $1750 of savings. I'll ask again, can't hurt.

EdA congrats on the delivery, looks like the same color as mine (Dolphin Grey, or it could be the dark blue, hard to tell with those upside down pics)

It is blue, I'll flip the pix in a few minutes. Things get hectic once the car actually arrives.

Got mine this morning (see my signature for options). It was meant to come in Tuesday night but due to a delayed delivery on the way to Boston and miscommunication around phone numbers, I didn't get to arrange the drop off until late Tuesday night. I had a crazy meeting schedule at work today so I chanced asking how early the delivery truck could get me the car - how does 6:30am sound - perfect!

The car was in good shape when I got it - there were 4 Model Ss in the truck, none had covers but the truck was enclosed. The next delivery was to a guy just a few minutes from my house (same town) so I got to meet him and we'll meet up again on Saturday. His reservation number was a lot higher than mine but he got his grey 21s but I ended up with substitute 19s, odd. The two remaining cars were being dropped directly to Tesla Watertown. I'll swing by there over the next week for the winter tire switchover and likely get my front plate mounted (it was in the trunk instead of mounted).

Due bill: spoiler, grey 21s, kid seats.

Already did the 4.1 upgrade (took < 30 mins) and have played around more than I've driven - only 14 miles so far but hopefully plenty of driving through the weekend. Only had 70 miles charge when I got it so I expect it came out of tow mode when it sat in NJ for a few days between trucks and was trying to auto level all the way to Boston! Truck delivery guy (Mike) was super nice and flexible about delivery which I appreciated.

On the trade-in, when I finalized around Oct/Nov, there was no trade-in in MA - AutoNation didn't do trade-ins here. Definitely better off doing it yourself on Craigslist (a good price will move quick). I'm selling my BMW 530xi and expect it to be little effort - I sold my X5 4.4i a few years back and it was an easier than dealer experience!

Anyway, going to go play in the new toy for a while now. All seems very intuitive, reminds me of my first experience with an iPhone (seems like decades ago!) where things are just done right rather than done the way they were before. Having "direction of travel" in map has to be in the 4.2 update, the biggest gap in my mind. Would certainly like parking sensors with all the garage parking I do but I'll deal for now.

Thanks all for the advice so far. Will post a review with pics in the main forum in a few days.

Congrats...hope to see you around...

I picked up my snows today and got my plates.

My car comes out of purgatory (after market paint armor) tomorow

Ed, Mitch, Alset - Great!
All - Brought my S in to be looked over, and happy to share that new cars are arriving and ready to roll. Four cars, VINs respectfully withheld. Enjoy whoever is next!

That's my car, levitating above four new:

NB: Saw a green one, Robert, and think it is awesome.
Mitch, the grey one was sweet.

I was there earlier yesterday too. There was also a Roadster.

What's the deal with the service formerly known as Fast Lane? How do you select an EV plate (Emergency Vehicle?)???

I'm still loving the color, tho' that blue of yours is stunning. I look forward to seeing Mitch's gray MS in person.

I've got my EZPass (=FastLane) transponder mounted in the blacked-out area just to the passenger side of the rear-view mirror's mount. Works fine for me, although I needed to get a new transponder with sufficient battery oomph.

The EV (=Electric Vehicle) plates are available at all the RMVs, at no additional cost to qualified car owners. I got them primarily so that, when I park at Logan in the special alternative-fuel vehicle area, I don't get a ticket (a problem Ben reported with his Roadster). I really like have the EV plates every day, though, as it catches people's attention -- "That's an EV? But it's gorgeous!"

I got EV plates, but on the EZ Pass (nee Fastlane) web site you can't choose "EV" in the pull down for the license plate type. The closest is emergency vehicle.
I had to call the service center to get them to update it manually.

Thinking of taking my family to Howe Caverns this weekend. What's the best charge finder app? Was it PlugShare?
Howe Caverns said I could charge while touring the caves.

Good discussion on charging apps over here: iPhone Charger Locator Apps other options

Howe Caverns is about 190 miles from Natick, so you should easily be able to drive there on a single charge. It'll probably use ~70kWh of power, though, so unless they have an RV plug and you're planning on staying for 8hours +, you might need a boost somewhere. The Big Y in Lee, MA has two free ChargePoint stations; it's about a mile from the center of Lee, which is a very pretty New England town. (Plugshare shows an EV owner with a J-plug even closer to the center of town.) Your kids might enjoy a visit to the Museum of Animation there.

My plan was to charge while we toured the caves (they said I could do this, probably 120V).
Then we were going to stay overnight in the Holiday Inn in Albany since they have free charging (J-plug too).
But it seems that the trip is off but we'll take a shorter road trip.

Thanks for the link, I knew I had seen it before.

Not strictly about deliveries (yet), but...

I'm 14,427, and I expect my finalize email to come up in the next few days. I can't decide between gray and blue exterior, but I think I'm set on gray leather and obeche matte trim. I think seeing them in person will make the decision for me. The gray seems like it lacks depth in the photos I've seen, but OTOH the blue looks so deep I feel like I might fall in it.

Is there anyone in the area with a gray or blue Model S that I could just drive out to see in person over the next few days? I'm in Marlboro, and am willing to drive anywhere within 50 miles to see either one in person. I really just want to do an exterior walk-around to take it in with real lighting.

I believe that is Mitch's Dolphin Gray in the picture above. I could be wrong but, - shhhh. Don't tell him. Surprises are good.

Actualy it's not :( I spoke with them, it's not my car. My car is currently in "Utah" visting some fine mormons :) not really, but that's where it was as of this AM.
Depending on the weather, it's expected at Tesla's Watertown Service center on Sunday. elreydetodo, you are welcome to see my car (Dolphin Grey), but it won't be here for another week or so. I would suggest you call the Tesla Watertown service center and see what color cars they are working on, that's probably the best place to see multiple Tesla Model S's right now (well that and one of our fine EV gatherings which we seem to be due for soon, since so many additional people have taken delivery of their Boston area Model S's)
