played around with the HVAC yesterday, and indeed you were right.
pinching them together will create a single flow that can be adjusted.
I guess mine came with flow pre-split, and it is so convenient using one finger that I never considered trying the pinching move.

I have no idea how deliveries are done now, but this was one of the things my delivery agent showed me during the orientation/walk-through (but I already knew it anyway from watching the HVAC interface videos that were posted ahead of time).

Mine works like WilliamG. Single flow move in any direction, or split with two fingers.
