New Model X squeaky brakes...normal?

Have had our MX for 7 days and logged more than 500 miles but our brakes are terribly squeaky. Are other X owners experiencing this same thing? The car gets plenty of attention as it is, turning heads for squeaking makes me squeal. ;-)

Can be when I put my S regen in low regen the will squeak sometimes, when I put it back to high regen it goes away. My X so far is the same way.

My X's brakes squeaked for a long time, but it eventually went away. I use standard regen, and pride myself on seldom using "old fashioned" brakes, so I think that's what happened. All fine now.

It's very common for Tesla owner's brakes to get a layer of rust on them, due to their low usage patterns. Some SC suggest to hit the brakes hard a few times to wear off the oxide layer off.

Yes mine started squeeking after 500 miles and still squeek with 2000 miles on it

Mine squeaked initially but after 1000 miles have quieted down.

New brakes would do that sometimes as the pads "carve in and cure" on the rotors. Or it could be that there is water/moisture in between the pads and rotors. Did you see this after washing the car or perhaps after rain?

My Model S squeeked for about 5000 miles, no matter how many hard stops I tried.

It's been quite ever since, but it took a while.

Yes, our Model X squealed at stops for the first month or so, but eventually stopped.

This was discussed many times with the S. Just brake hard few times. The noise will come back, but if you keep doing the same procedure it will eventually go away. More details here.

Mine squeaked for a couple of months, but then stopped.

Mine have been squeaking off and on for the first month, but it gradually seems to be happening less often (though my wife reported hearing them again this morning).

I have about 2000 miles on my X and there is a screech sound every time the car "rocks" at the stopping point. Forward or reverse any any speed, hard or soft braking. It is starting to make people ask if there is something wrong with the Model X. Not a good attention grabber for sure. A silent vehicle with a "screech" sound every time I stop. A

Anyone else with the same sound when it "rocks" to a stop?

My breaks squeaked for a while, but went away after about 4,000 miles.

I'm over 5,000 miles. Never squeaked.

You have to change the regen from Standard to Low and put the on the brakes a few time (15-20) while driving and the squeak should go away. Then set the regen back to standard. This appears to be caused by a build up of brake dust or debris. One of the guys in Service told me to do this and it works for me every time they start to get noisy.

Normal. The brakes do not get much work with regen. Hit the brakes hard a few times before you enter car line at school. No one wants to be the 100k+ car with squeaky breaks.
