Thanks for the pics!!

Man, looks like it might not be an easy swap. And to think I missed the new lights by one week, haha!! I guess I should be happy I didn’t miss the $3,000 price reduction and new door glyphs, haha!!

From the markings:
Old: POS - 5.3W, Stop - 4W, Turn - 5W. I assume POSitional is the running light.
New: Tail - 3.2W, Stop - 18.8W, Turn - 8W, SML 3.2W. I assume Tail is the running light. SML is side marker light -- is there an additional light segment on the side?

We need to see where the wires connect on a wiring harness from a pre-August car and it would have been nice to see where the wires connect on the new harness. At least we know the colors: black, white, red, yellow and a voltmeter can tell us what is triggered for each function.. I am still hoping that a simple male/female adaptor can be made.

I am certain some electrical engineer genius is going to come up with a retro fit harness. Same thing happened with a BMW E60 (aka 5-series) Bangle tail lights way back when BMW came out with really cool LED tail lights and people wanted to swap their incandescent bulb lights. The cables were a pretty penny ($500) but was sold by the hundreds and kept getting resold as the people moved on to other cars. Now they are mass produced and you can buy them for $50 pair. :)

Based on what I read about people trying to fit the Euro Model 3 tail lights onto US cars (not these, but a different one), a simple harness may not be enough. The reason for that is the turn signals are not driven independently on a US-flagged car (tied to the brake lights), so to get it to work they had to wire something to the side turn indicators (the ones that's part of the side cameras) to prevent the tail light from turning on the turn signal and the brakes when it's not supposed to.

New Taillights coming?

It may be possible to combine the harness with the wire to the side turn signals to get something working.

As a model 3 owner I'm very interested in this; given they're the same lights I hope we can figure out something for all of us.
