Octopus "Failed To Trigger Bump Charge".

Been repeatedly getting this message when clicking the bump charge button in the app. Is this a common problem, any suggestions?

Mine has not worked since day 1. I can only recall once in the last 2 years or so that I've needed it of course, at which point I just turned off Octopus and started the charge via the car controls.

I get this but only between the time of plugging in and Octopus setting the charging plan. Can be 5mins to 30mins for me. Also after it has done that bit and is ready, with my android app, you press bump charge, it gives you that error but if you go somewhere else in the app like the home button then go back into devices it's happily chugging along giving you a bump charge!?

Just to echo the above, I’ve also had the situation where it gives the error message but it has actually started the charge. The one sure thing with me is that the charge doesn’t start instantaneously, it can take a good few minutes. Try giving it a little time and navigate to a different area of the app and back, as suggested above by @Columbo

Yes but sometimes you need too or like me, I get Octopus power UP sessions of free electric so I'm furiously hitting that bump button at the beginning of the session.

Just like @Billbrown1982 I've had difficulties with bump charges pretty much from Day 1 as well.
Now I just disable smart charging from the Octopus app and start the charge from the Tesla app instead.

So... Just start the charging in Tesla app rather than in Octopus?

It will do the same - start charging

Bump charge never really works for me. I just start the chargers in the talks tesla app or turn off smart charging in the octopus app

Because it’s unreliable I turn off smart charging in the Octopus app and control charging from the Tesla app. Usually when the sun is shining and I want to stop my home battery from ‘overflowing’ into the grid.

It makes no sense to charge from Sun when octopus buys it for 15p...

yes.. but rake all you can while it lasts
