I'm booked in for meter installation next week. Surprised as I only registered to do it 2 months ago. I suspect they will try to group together to minimise traveling time and costs.
Just need charger and car now...

Just had my gas and electricity meters installed today. Forgot to ask if they are SMETS 1 or 2.

Is there any way of knowing.

The electric meter is an EDMI Standard 420

Even worse, I had a smart meter already, switched to them and they can't get it to work and won't even come and look at that. Now I'm stuck on their standard tariff for the foreseeable.

In the same boat. At least Octopus have told me the meter is not working. Bulb could not do that in a year!

No. The IHD is a closely guarded link. Best you will get officially approved devices and services ie Hildebrand: Technology that Surrounds Customers with Smartness which offer devices such as Display and CAD - Smart meters

Your meter should come with an indoor smart display and Your Octopus a/c will generally show yesterday’s usage for every half hour (and beyond yesterday)
My smart display is showing real time. Happily, I’m running on powerwalls!

Great to see they're starting to install again. I'm based in East Mids - But only switched over a few weeks ago.. So guessing I've got a long wait unless there's a flourish of people near me all needing the install?

Getting installed as we speak, Wooohoo, (Well Elec is done, he is doing gas at the moment), going round the house turning everything on and off to see what difference it makes to the power.

Do I really need a Fridge Freezer?

Now to figure out how to change my plan over to Agile.

I had mine installed yesterday and thought I could be switched straight to agile.

Unfortunately this process can take a couple of weeks for the smart meter to register on all the systems.

Yes, it took a few weeks for me and even longer to start getting your billing based on the data from the smart meters. Very impressed with the bills once you do start getting them. You get a 30 min interval breakdown of your consumption for each day in the month and a handy average p/kWh.

That's why I figured I'd email them today, might as well start it right away. The commando socket isn't going into the garage till Thursday so not a huge rush yet

I'm still waiting, since about February, as well.

I live out in the sticks, so I guess they're probably trying to group together enough meter swaps to make it worth their while.

Same here. I requested a smart meter install in October 2019. I now have the meter but it was only smart for 2 days. So still waiting for Go tariff after 9 months. I thought waiting for the car would be the longest part of the whole experience!

That was ultimately why I left octopus - their fixed tariff is eyewatering and i was stuck on it for 6 months.. it just didn't make sense any more. Move to yorkshire and my monthly bill dropped 40% overnight.

I had 4 different engineers who couldn't get the meter working and the last one went on for about 10 minutes about octopus sending him on 'no hope' jobs and wasting his time.. their contractors don't think much of them..
