Performance Plus (+) Upgrade

I've never noticed the AWD cars to be inherently overly soft or harsh, the + is a more noticeable feeling to actual handling by far. AWD might add some small amount of perceived understeer but it's the same understeer change on a P85D+ as it is on a 70D. To that end, perhaps comparing to a non-P D car would be a better suggestion.

The highest P85D (CPO) is VIN: P77543

Hey fellas. I’m trying to confirm if a 2015 p85d has + suspension or not. After reading thru a ton of posts on the board, I am seeing April 30 as the cut off date but lots of varying VIN #s as “last vin #” Can anyone confirm or is it a crapshoot? Thanks in advance

Looks like it does not.

And how is the P85+ vs P85D+?

Handling is very similar, P85D+ steering feels a little better (probably the extra "weight" feel of the front drive) and the car itself has appreciably more "go" under your right foot, especially with Ludi. P85D doesn't allow the rear end to slide nearly as much as the P85+ does, but that feels like a traction control tweak and not an AWD difference.

My car is PX00 and I have the + suspension. Seems the only way is the physical check.

Correct! If you read through this thread, there are lots of cars with PX00 that have the + suspension. So far, I haven't seen any cars with PX01 that don't have the + suspension, so visually checking the shocks is the only sure-fire way to know. Secondary to that, we've pretty much concluded any P85D made in April 2015 or earlier has the + suspension (and a couple in May, but that's it). I haven't seen a Pre-May 2015 P85D without the + suspension. Also keep in mind it's possible to have almost any wheel/tire configuration on these P85Ds, so just because a car might have 19" rims or a 21" non-staggered setup, doesn't mean it doesn't have the +.

Update!

I just picked up delivery today on a 2014 P85D. Vin 62975

Has px01 on build sheet and just turned the wheel to check. 130608-01-A.

Happy to have followed all the great info on this and other threads to help influence my decision! Thanks everyone. I’ll try and post a full report in the delivery experience and CPO threads.

After forgetting to do this for about 4 months, I finally checked and my 2015 P85D March 2015 build also has + suspension. The VIN in P78318 making it one of the highest P85D+ out there.
