I know for a fact that they watch this forum. From personal experience. I'll just leave it at that.
I'm convinced v9 was written by a bunch of kids w/Model 3's
I don't know if you've ever seen the show Silicon Valley, but there's an episode where they release their software for testing. The engineers are excited about it and love the way it does certain things. The people that just interact with the UI and have no idea what's going on behind the scenes think the app is awful. TL;DR, developers don't have the end user's perspective, and that makes things suck.I'm convinced v9 was written by a bunch of kids w/Model 3's who never spent more than 10mins in an S/X and didn't realized there are fundamental differences in the screens and how they are used by many owners.
The Camera is NOT and APP. It is a safety feature. It is fundamental.
To see the camera, you need to tap a small button to get to it, then the Camera "App" which takes your eye further from the road even longer.
Any time you use an app the camera disappears. Change a station, etc.
I have been a Tesla S and X owner for 5 years and been one of your biggest supporters. I have shown my S or X at several hundred events. I have spent 100 of hours helping your sales reps and delivery specialists at end of qtr pushes and events. Even this next week my X is scheduled to be loaned to the local utility for 4 days to be included in an international auto show.
I have never had a complaint like this before.

GM allows it. Just saying...As you have posted across multiple threads. It is a safety issue to have the camera on at all times. Otherwise all the other car manufactures that have rear cameras would allow it.
As a developer, I can tell you this is very true. In fact, I've been on a project where the Subject Matter Experts worked with the UI people and the server people, hashed stuff out for months, and came up with a great piece of software. We all agreed. When users saw the end product, they refused to even try it, universally, across the board. "That will be useless to me."I don't know if you've ever seen the show Silicon Valley, but there's an episode where they release their software for testing. i didnt read thru the whole thread, so maybe this was addressed already, but if you do a long press/touch on the fan it will turn off the HVAC.Same here. I always drive with the camera on at the top and radio open in the bottom. Also the ac power bottom needs to come back.
If the idea is to have Nav up when FSD is engaged, fine, then do that ONLY when FSD is engaged. Why torture us with a UI that won't be used or implemented for several years to come?
