Ordered car 11/17. Waived wait time to confirm. Requested delayed delivery 11/19....to resolve issue...issue resolved 11/20...asked to be put back in queue for Dec 2016 delivery...got late Feb to march 2017. WRACKING my brain trying to understand why? Can you help? Also I'm accepting ideas to solve this issue. Oh issue is I screwed up and can't wait. No I'm not buying a hardware 1 car.

Delivery is dependent on location. All of the January cars that are going to be produced are going out of the country. There were many other orders that were already scheduled because people wanted to delay their build so that it would be a 2017 model year, so that is why yours is getting pushed back to February/March.

Thx

In my case my delivery date got changed and delayed by 2 months. I was furious. I raised a stink about it with my owner advisor and my delivery specialist. And apparently there was a "glitch" in the system that caused it. They corrected it and brought it back to what was originally showing up in MyTesla when I placed and confirmed the order.

Hi @Hrhkee,

If you look at the production start dates on this page, production before Nov 2nd was for Europe. Production after Nov 2nd is for the USA. The reason is because Tesla wants to maximize their Q4 deliveries. On average Europe has 47 days transit time from the factory to delivery. Therefore any car produced after mid-Nov has no chance of being delivered in Q4 in Europe. They will continue USA production maybe until Dec 15th. Then they will switch back to Europe and Asia from Dec 15 to Jan 30 and then back to USA. It is a very calculated operation.

The average transit times for each region (from factory to delivery) are as follows:
USA, California, 5 days
USA, Pacific excluding CA, 7 days
USA, Mountain, 9 days
USA, Central, 11 days
USA, Eastern, 18 days
Canada, 32 days
Japan, 41 days
Australia or New Zealand, 43 days
Europe excluding the UK, 47 days
China or Hong Kong, 50 days
UK, 55 days

Looking at the spreadsheet is VERY informative. It shows that basically all the East coast residents who ordered near the Nov 22 deadline are going into production now.

My guess is that the Midwest will come next.

One question...
I've seen people link to a timeline... "VIN assigned, Entering Production " etc.
Where is that?

I don't see that on my Dashboard
I've never received an email like that either

I confirmed 11/19.
I THINK I have a VIN (a long number that ends in 1748xx)
It says my car is in the queue

Did I just miss an email?
