I know there are some limitations created by the X's "special" windshield, but does anybody have a Radar Detector setup that is successful?

I have two (in different vehicles) of the Escort Passport 9500. I use the standard factory windshield suction cup mounts. Works just as well in the X as any other vehicle I have had them in. I am running the power from the OBDII port to the big open space behind the dash on the drivers side. Just pull off the side panel on the drivers side dash and there is plenty of space. I have everything zip tied in place so it doesn't move around. Mounting my dash camera this weekend and will run power for that to the same location.Insureit1, what brand and model? How much?
I have a Valentine One and have driven with those detectors since they were first invented. I have it suctioned to the Model X windscreen about an inch to the right of the rear-view mirror and then down about 6". This permits the cable to stay off to the right of the monitor screen until I get a more permanent wiring solution in place. It also looks out the windshield significantly below the lower edge of the blue tint.
Because I have had V1s so long, I know how they perform in my previous cars and have some direct correlation to performance in the Model X. I keep my X and K bands completely turned off, only using Ka and Laser. These have both alerted normally to distant sources and I see no real degradation in performance what so ever.
So am I hearing correctly that the MX doesn't have the same windshield coating issue like the MS? Will my V1 week on the windshield of my MX?
After 4 days on the windshield, it seems to be performing exactly the same as when it was on my MDX.
Why? Honest question here. You have driver assist features that will drive the car for you at highway speeds. Are the speed limits too slow? Again, honest question, I'm not trying to be negative.
Glad to hear that the V1 is working for you like for me. Model S may have a stronger film over more of the WS - I don't know. I only have tested and use daily in my X. Very satisfied with performance of V1.
As for Jeff Andrews' question: In some instances, yes, just too slow. This car can have you moving much more quickly than you might realize and having a little advance warning never hurts.
@myblubu Can you slide the V1 forward & out of the mount without much effort, much like we normally can with the standard suction cup mount? I like to be able to take down the V1 either when parking so there's one less attraction to thieves or when it appears I'll be driving side-by-side with law enforcement :=)
